Think The Sierra Club Still Wants To Keep New Orleans "Wet & Wild"?

John Berlau on Katrina on National Review Online

With all that has happened in the state, it’s understandable that the Louisiana chapter of the Sierra Club may not have updated its website. But when its members get around to it, they may want to change the wording of one item in particular. The site brags that the group is “working to keep the Atchafalaya Basin,” which adjoins the Mississippi River not far from New Orleans, “wet and wild.”

The story continues with reference to the Army Corps of Engineers recommendation that certain work be done to various levees...work halted by a suit filed by everyone's favorite tree-huggers-R-us...The Sierra Club. And no. I do not know their secret handshake. Something to do with blinking an eye and wiggling the left pinky while standing on one foot. Blindfolded. Nude.
