Notes From The Mumbai Massacre

Photographer: I wish I'd had a gun, not a camera. Armed police would not fire back

"The gunmen were terrifyingly professional, making sure at least one of them was able to fire their rifle while the other reloaded. By the time he managed to capture the killer on camera, Mr D'Souza had already seen two gunmen calmly stroll across the station concourse shooting both civilians and policemen, many of whom, he said, were armed but did not fire back. "I first saw the gunmen outside the station," Mr D'Souza said. "With their rucksacks and Western clothes they looked like backpackers, not terrorists, but they were very heavily armed and clearly knew how to use their rifles.

"Towards the station entrance, there are a number of bookshops and one of the bookstore owners was trying to close his shop," he recalled. "The gunmen opened fire and the shopkeeper fell down."

But what angered Mr D'Souza almost as much were the masses of armed police hiding in the area who simply refused to shoot back. "There were armed policemen hiding all around the station but none of them did anything," he said. "At one point, I ran up to them and told them to use their weapons. I said, 'Shoot them, they're sitting ducks!' but they just didn't shoot back."

I've seen this happen before. Armed men who'd rather not be part of an ongoing fight. Unwilling to call attention to themselves they flee, knowing that fighting would greatly increase the chance of taking fire. Moving targets are also harder to hit.

So the police beat feet, and the rest of the citizenry were of course incapable of legally arming themselves so they died in droves.

Pathetic. And before you say that it couldn't happen here, hark back to when Katrina laid waste to New Orleans. And MANY officers of the law looted then simply ran away.

Ohio Police Chief Shoots Himself While Teaching Daughter Gun Safety

As we reported upon yesterday when a top cop did the same thing, and the media wasn't even allowed to obtain his phone number.

The Yellowstream Media has joined in the modern interpretation of good guys versus bad guys, with cops wearing the white hats and immune to being referred to as an "Idiot".

Giants' Burress accidentally shoots self in leg

The New York Giants wide receiver accidentally shot himself in the right thigh Friday night, has learned, not long after being ruled out of Sunday's game against the Redskins with a hamstring injury in the same leg.

The New York Post cited sources who said that Burress shot himself after midnight at the LQ nightclub and needed to be hospitalized.

The Post also said that Burress, 31, was allegedly trying to enter the club with teammate Antonio Pierce when they were stopped by security guards.

Burress, who caught the game-winning touchdown against the Patriots in January, admitted to the guards that he was carrying a gun. He then allegedly went over to a secluded area with a guard and took the gun out, the Post said.

Burress apparently started trying to unload the gun and bobbled it. An accidental shot went off and went through his leg."

Unless Plaxico has some serious juice... his Florida CCW license doesn't mean squat in NY...he's in for an unpaid vacation on Rikers Island.

Ohio Police Chief Shoots Himself While Teaching Daughter Gun Safety

MONROE, Ohio — Police in southwestern Ohio say a police chief mistakenly shot himself in the thigh after giving his daughter a gun safety lesson.

A police report says 54-year-old Middletown police Chief Greg Schwarber was preparing to clean his Glock .45-caliber pistol on Friday and didn't realize the gun was still loaded.

The report written by officers from neighboring Monroe says the bullet entered Schwarber's leg just above the knee.

When officers arrived, they found the chief lying on the floor with a towel covering his leg. Schwarber was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The hospital had no record of Schwarber being treated or admitted. A home phone number for him couldn't be found.

Why in the name of all hells the fool pointed the gun at his own leg to see if it was unloaded, is a question no sane man can answer. Then again, since he WAS teaching his child all about gun safety, its a blessing he didn't aim it right between her eyes as he squeezed the trigger. Now at least she knows that shooting yourself in the leg is preferable to murdering a member of the household.

And we all know how hard it is to find the telephone number of a Chief of Police, so the media being unable to contact him is quite understandable.

Full-size cardboard figure causes bank standoff

MONTGOMERY TOWNSHIP, N.J. — A standoff at a New Jersey bank is over after police learned a "person" seen inside was actually a full-size cardboard figure.

Officers went to the PNC Bank in Montgomery Township on Thursday night after an alarm went off. They saw what they thought was at least one person through the windows of the bank, which had its blinds drawn.

The area was sealed off and three nearby apartment buildings were evacuated as a precaution. Meanwhile, authorities used bullhorns and made telephone calls in a bid to make contact with whoever might be in the bank.

After repeatedly failing to get a response, a SWAT team entered the building and discovered the cardboard figure.

"Cardboard, or human flesh, it doesn't really matter," senior weapons Lieutenant Kent Ketchum told reporters, "whatever it was, it was going down and going down the hard way if it didn't surrender."

Luckily for all involved, once heavily armed SWAT personnel breached the building and allowed a strong gust of wind inside, the figure toppled on its own. Then, after being repeatedly tasered and baton-whipped, it was, for all intents and purposes, rendered hors de combat, allowing the officers to make the arrest without further ado.

Horiuchi Pimping For H-S Precision?

So okay. H-S Precision is doing business with Lon Horiuchi, and I for one am still too shocked to make heads or tails of it.

Here's the War on Guns take, and we'll be keeping our eyes open, with crossed fingers, in the hope that some how, some way, it was all a misunderstanding. Because if these folks ACTUALLY thought it a good idea to have Horiuchi bark their wares, then they're one helluva gaggle of sick sumbitches.

Local Station "Investigates" Gun Law Loophole

"In the state of Florida, any non-felon can apply for a license to carry a gun in public without having fired a single bullet. The law requires "competence" but never defines what that means."It's up to you. As a responsible gun owner, it's basically up to you. That's what the state says," said North Miami Beach police weapons instructor Tom Carney.Carney said the vague wording could turn into deadly mistakes. He said it takes hours and hours of training, combined with rounds and rounds of practice ammunition, to be competent with a firearm.

Local 10's Sasha Andrade went undercover to put state-certified courses to the test.First, she sat in a classroom at a local gun show for two hours. The instructor went over the law, handed out a quiz that he said only one person ever failed and then lined up about 50 participants at a local range."At the gun show, the only thing I had to do was grab a hand gun, point it down range and fire it once. That's it," Andrade said."

So then; how's about them there states that require No training at all?

Blood running in the streets yet?

Course not. People are not as incompetent as you think, deary. Then there's that silly little Constitution thang.

Student Congress blocks concealed-carry bill

Members want university a ‘gun-free zone’

"Student Congress passed legislation Tuesday night that officially opposes the carrying of concealed firearms on campus.

Student congress’ legislation opposed the Oklahoma House of Representatives’ bill that would allow certain students, faculty and employees to carry concealed handguns on Oklahoma college campuses.

Advocates for Student Congress’ legislation argued that the inclusion of weapons in a university environment would not be beneficial to campus security, but rather detrimental.

“Colleges are a traditionally gun-free zone,” said Sam Ikard, political science junior and author of the legislation. “Even though there have been some prominent shootings at universities in the past, they’re exceptions to the rule.”

Ikard also said that it would be highly difficult for law enforcement to discern between a gunman and a student with a conceal-and-carry license during an emergency.

Political science junior Matt Gress, who supports concealing and carrying weapons, said that efforts should be made to focus on measures that would prevent shootings in the first place.

“We should work to identify red flag situations,” he said."

Bless their stupid little hearts, they're really just dopey kids who think that because THEY believe it to be true, it is.

Hardly a week goes by here at the doorstep of the University of Florida without my engaging some similar-minded student in a conversation about firearms on campus. A conversation that ends right after I ask if they truly believe that crazy people and criminals really pay much attention to signs banning this, that, or the other thing. I can see it in their eyes, I can hear it when they speak...

...they're afraid of guns and that's that.

If life's "red-flag-situations" could be so easily predicted we'd soon be without need of officers of the peace and their ilk, as warning signs would go out and a skeleton staff of enforcers would intercede long before the shit hit the fan.

And as far as the tired old saw that cops can't identify the good guys from the bad guys, then why not simply train them to do so? Some bad ass situation happens to me, I shoot the offending sucker, re-holster my weapon, and call the police. Identify myself and tell them I'm armed and just wasted a lowlife. If they come in guns a'blazin then it's THEIR fault if I drop them too.

Bottom line is that these dopey students know full well that even if a shooting went down at their school, chances are they'd be okay, so why NOT jump on the uber-liberal bandwagon and evince a hatred for guns.

New Orleans Ranks as Most Violent U.S. City, Study Finds

NEW ORLEANS — "New Orleans ranks as the most violent U.S. city, with more than 19,000 reported crimes and 208 murders in 2007, according to a study released Monday.

The study published by CQ Press, the book publishing arm of Congressional Quarterly, examined six categories — homicide, rape, burglary, robbery, aggravated assault and motor vehicle theft.

The rankings include all cities of at least 75,000 residents that reported crime data to the FBI in those crime categories for 2007.

"Based on a per capita basis, New Orleans has the No. 1 crime ranking using FBI statistics," said CQ spokesman Ben Krasney."

New Orleans was well ahead of second-place Camden, New Jersey, and third-place Detroit, according to the study. St. Louis, Missouri and Oakland, California, rounded out the top five.

In homicides, New Orleans had 94.7 per 100,000 population, compared to the overall national average of 5.6 per 100,000 and to Gary, Indiana, ranked second with 73.2 per 100,000."

Cities ALL sharing the same elephant-in-the-room, but not a ONE of these "studies"will focus upon the truth.

Instead, WE are to blame for owning things that the animals will steal and use inappropriately, so "officials" tell us that the best way to lower crime is for us to stop owning such things. The strongest among us tell them to fuck off, that we're responsible enough to take care of business, and that scares the ever loving shit out of those making a living off of keeping the elephant well fed. Then, those very same scumbags...politicians, community organizers, and law enforcement... threaten to come and kill us should we DARE to defend ourselves and our families and our property from the scourge and national disgrace that is black and spanish crime.

We then move to areas still fit for human habitation and the New Orleans and Camden's and Detroit's sink further down the rabbit hole. That wouldn't be such a bad thing, letting the thugs alone to kill one another off, but then these areas grow as the animals become more and more protected and urged to spawn beyond control and before we know it they've enough political clout to reach out and hurt us anywhere we happen to live. But, there were STILL enough men around to reverse so cancerous an intrusion into civilization until the million-mommy-morons arrived to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory.

Man arrested for trying to save pets from burning house

ZEPHRYHILLS, Fla. (AP) -- "A Pasco County man is facing charges after trying to run into his burning home to save his pets.

According to an online arrest report, Henry Ben Morgan is facing a felony charge of obstructing the extinguishment (?) of a fire and a misdemeanor charge of resisting arrest without violence.

Sheriff's deputies and firefighters who responded to burning home Friday morning yelled at Morgan to stay back. According to a report, authorities had to restrain him so he would not jump into the fire through a window.

Pasco Fire Rescue Assistant Chief Mike Ciccarello said Morgan's home is a "total loss," and crews could not save the animals.

The foundation-savers, aka Pasco County firemen, seem to have taken a lesson from the constabulary with regards to property and basic human rights. Shame the man wasn't allowed to save his pets, and a bigger shame that he can't press charges against the hose-nazi's for allowing the "extinguishment" of his animals.

And not for nothin' but that's one helluva shiner they gave the dude. Musta taken a lot of "restraining".

Cops mistake motorist's phone for gun; close road

WEATHERFORD — Part of an interstate was shut down briefly Thursday morning after authorities responded to reports of a motorist holding a gun to his head — but it was actually a cell phone.

A driver had noticed a car on the side of Interstate 20 west of Fort Worth and thought the man inside had a gun to his head, Parker County Sheriff Larry Fowler said. An officer who was sent there also thought the man had a gun, Fowler said.

A tactical force of the Parker County Sheriff's Department and other law enforcement agencies responded and determined that the man's sport utility vehicle had broken down and that he was holding a cell phone.

Fowler said authorities also reached the man's relatives and were able to call him on his cell phone. The SUV was loaded onto a trailer and the man was allowed to leave, Fowler said.

Eastbound traffic on Interstate 20 was shut down for nearly an hour, and reminiscent of several other recent mis-identifications, including a road kill that was thought to be a working thermonuclear device, a broken deer antler that closely resembled a Samurai sword possibly left by killer ninjas intent upon kidnapping lefthanded drivers of Volkswagen Beetles, and a flattened pumpkin that bore an altogether uncanny likeness to that pod from the science fiction movie Alien.

"Better to be safe than sorry," Sheriff Fowler averred.

Hindu Groups in India Offering Rewards to Kill Christians

"Extremist Hindu groups offered money, food and alcohol to mobs to kill Christians and destroy their homes, according to Christian aid workers in the eastern India state of Orissa.

The U.S.-based head of Good News India, a Christian organization that runs several orphanages in Orissa — one of India’s poorest regions — claims that Christian leaders are being targeted by Hindu militants and carry a price on their heads. "The going price to kill a pastor is $250," said Faiz Rahman, the chairman of Good News India.

A spokesman for the All-India Christian Council said: “People are being offered rewards to kill, and to destroy churches and Christian properties. They are being offered foreign liquor, chicken, mutton and weapons. They are given petrol and kerosene.”

Well then. Wouldn't take all that much coaxing for certain among us to contribute to a "Waste Hindu's who Are Militant Peckerheads fund, or WHAMP for short, but of course it's but a mere handful of moslems who are head choppers so this shouldn't bother us. Still and all, can't help but thinking what kind of price to put on an Ayatollah. The genuine value is what, sixty cents or thereabouts, but we'd need to ante up lots more as an incentive. And we could have our headquarters here:

Michelle Malkin On The Gay Marriage Thugs

"BEFORE Election Day, national media hand wringers forged a wildly popular narrative: The right was, in the words of New York Times columnist Paul Krugman, gripped by "insane rage." Outbreaks of incivility (some real, but mostly imagined) were proof positive of the extremist takeover of the Republican Party. The cluck-cluckers and tut-tutters shook with fear.

In fact, in the wake of campaign 2008 there's only one angry mob gripped by "insane rage": left-wing same-sex-marriage activists incensed at their defeat in California. Voters there approved Proposition 8, a traditional-marriage initiative, by 52 percent to 48 percent.

Instead of introspection and self-criticism, however, the sore losers who opposed Prop. 8 responded with threats, fists and blacklists.

That's right. Activists have published on the Internet an "Anti-Gay Blacklist" of Prop. 8 donors. If the tables were turned and Prop. 8 proponents created such an enemies list, everyone in Hollywood would be screaming "McCarthyism" faster than you could count to eight.

A Los Angeles restaurant whose manager made a small donation to the Prop. 8 campaign has been besieged nightly by hordes of protesters who have disrupted business, intimidated patrons and brought employees to tears. Out of fear for their jobs and their lives, workers at El Coyote Mexican Cafe pooled together $500 to pay off the bullies.

Scott Eckern, the beleaguered artistic director of California Musical Theatre in Sacramento, was forced to resign over his $1,000 donation to the Prop. 8 campaign. Rich Raddon, director of the Los Angeles Film Festival, is next on the chopping block after the anti-Prop. 8 mob discovered that he had also contributed to the "Yes on 8" campaign. Calls have been pouring in for his firing.

Over the last two weeks, anti-Prop. 8 organizers have targeted Mormon, Catholic and evangelical churches. Sentiments like this one, found on the anti-Prop. 8 Web site "JoeMyGod," are common across the left-wing blogosphere: "Burn their f---ing churches to the ground, and then tax the charred timbers."

Thousands of gay-rights demonstrators stood in front of the Mormon temple in Los Angeles shouting "Mormon scum." The Mormon headquarters in Salt Lake City received threatening letters containing an unidentified powder.

Religion-bashing protesters filled with hate decried the "hate" at Rick Warren's Saddleback Church in Orange County, Calif. Vandals defaced the Calvary Chapel in Chino Hills, Calif., because church members had collected Prop. 8 petitions. One worshiper's car was keyed with the slogans "Gay sex is love" and "SEX." Another car's antenna and windshield wipers were broken.

In Carlsbad, Calif., a man was charged with punching his elderly neighbors over their pro-Prop. 8 signs. In Palm Springs, Calif., a videographer filmed unhinged anti-Prop. 8 marchers who yanked a large cross from the hands of 69-year-old Phyllis Burgess and stomped on it.

In San Francisco, Christians evangelizing in the Castro District needed police protection after the same-sex marriage mob got physical and hounded them off the streets. Enthusiastically shooting themselves in the foot, anti-Prop. 8 boycotters are now going after the left-wing Sundance Film Festival because it does business in Mormon-friendly Utah.

Also targeted: Cinemark Theaters across the country. The company's CEO, Alan Stock, donated just under $10,000 to the traditional-marriage measure. Never mind that Cinemark theaters are hosting the new biopic about gay icon Harvey Milk. They must pay for the sins of the company head who dared to exercise his political free speech.

Corporate honchos, church leaders and small donors alike are in the same-sex-marriage mob's crosshairs, all unfairly demonized as hate-filled bigots by bona fide hate-filled bigots who have abandoned decency in pursuit of "equal rights." One wonders where Barack Obama - himself an opponent of Proposition 8 - is as this insane rage rages on. Soul-Fixer, Nation-Healer, where art thou?"

Where he always is. Asking his masters what to do.

Forget for a moment that Obama is both a politician and a lawyer, shudder, disremember that his brother lives in poverty while he banquets his way across the country, married to a troll of a woman who until recently had never found reason to be proud of America. The plain and simple truth is that the guy has absolutely no moral fiber worth mentioning so why should the thought of frenzied fairies pummeling senior citizens matter at all to him. This isn't about people simply wanting to be left alone with their preferences. In acting the way they have, they way they ALWAYS do, they've outed themselves as degenerate hate mongers that'll skip without missing a beat from twinkle-toeing to physical violence when they don't get their way.

From Georgia Carry...

"GCO has filed its brief in support of its appeal in the Atlanta Airport gun case. GCO sued Atlanta in federal district court because of Atlanta’s threats to arrest people lawfully carrying firearms in the Atlanta Airport. The district court granted Atlanta’s motion for judgment on the pleadings, finding that GCO had not introduced sufficient evidence that HB 89 (which decriminalized carrying firearms “on public transportation” for GFL holders) applies to airports (overlooking the fact that a party is neither permitted nor required to introduce evidence in opposition to a motion for judgment on the pleadings). GCO has appealed the case to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 11th Circuit. A copy of the brief may be viewed here."

Ever wonder what these criminals masquerading as judges and politicians would do if they didn't have traitorous scumdogs around to handle their dirty work? And I'm not talking about sheriff's and other high muckety mucks, just the ranky file. And this isn't rocket surgery here, but simple, straightforward stuff.

If it's in the Constitution, then don't fuck with it. And this is why mayors and senators and judges constantly drop to a knee and dry felate cops every chance they get; to make 'em feel special, REAL special, to make them so very addicted to the high praise and adulation for doing, when it comes right down to it, easy jobs that don't really have all that much inherant danger as long as you stay out of the way of runaway tractor trailors and sloppy ass drunks. Sure, its a pain in the ass dealing with the public but thats life and no one has EVER figured out a way to stop people from being jerks so either deal with it or move on. Thats what grownups do. But not these grownups. They carry guns and batons and Thomas A. Swift Electric Rifles and just might kill the beloved family pet if you look at 'em crosseyed.

Many of us talk about this until we're blue in the face but the word doesn't seem to be reaching Ma and Pa Kettle, now does it? I guess there's a certain comfort in knowing that even though you happen to be weak and wishy washy and all confused about being asked to make adult decisions, there's always the cops to handle the dirty work. Like enforcing ammo bans and gun bans and pretty much any old ban you can imagine. In fact, ANYTHING you don't particularly have the hots for. Wait long enough and some liberal politician will be looking to make it illegal and whew, thank heavens for the cops. They're simple folk who follow orders. No matter what. But take a moment to reflect. Then ask yourself if you ever thought it'd get this bad. I'm so clueless I'd of never figured anyone would have the balls to fuck with the Bill of Rights, let alone find the sort of people who'd threaten to kill me if I disagreed with them wanting to turn America into a kissing cousin of wimpy ass old Europe.

Fact of the matter is, while I don't walk around wearing shirts emblazoned with "Molon Labe", there isn't a man alive that'd get me to turn over a box of ammunition let alone a firearm, least ways not without a toe tag. I'm nobody special, or different, but I have had folks point a gun at me before and I didn't cotton to it then and wouldn't do so now.

Ya think they realize how many guys like that they're fucking with?

More On Saving The Automakers

Here's the deal. I'd be willing to "assist" the Big-3 through bankruptcy, and so would many, many other Americans. Under bankruptcy protection the automakers could restructure a lot of those sweetheart union deals that so many folks have been agonizing over, you know, how when big shots make tons of cash its called Capitalism but when the guy on the street gets a decent living wage and a good pension its called stealing. So the current crop of workers either agree to taking benefit cuts or plants shut down for good, and the smart money says that the little guy will take it on the chin because he'd have no choice.

Then let the fire sales begin. Not enough American cars on the streets? Production lines are slow for a reason, and the real reason is that the Japs and Krauts and Koreans make better looking, better running iron because we wouldn't be talking about ANY of this if there were lines at the dealerships. So let those same dealerships start letting the product go at 50 cents on the dollar and whammo - instant sales increase, instant cash flow, instant product recognition once Ma and Pa Kettle realize that a fully loaded $6000 Chevy Cobalt is one helluva sweet deal, and that a brandy new 5-grand Ford F-150 is too attractive to turn down.

As the market adjusts...translated to mean that once the Japs and Germans and Koreans begin feeling the pain as their sales dwindle...import prices begin dropping as well as the aforementioned feriners are all government sponsored anyways to one degree or another and won't really feel much of a pinch trying to match the bargain basement rides coming out of Detroit.

If it is truly a global economy then it is time to call in some old debts. Let them ferin boys and girls give US a leg-up for a change by biting the bullet on obscene profits as we sort through the mess and go back to making big bosses rich and little guys looking for two jobs to make ends meet, just like little guys aughta be doing anyways.

Oh yeah, and like I said, I'd help too by latching on to one of them garage-sale American made cars. For sure. At half the price they'd finally be priced reasonably. Almost. Close enough for government work and without me spending all those tax dollars with nothing to show for it.

So then, in summation; the whining Ford, Chevy, Chrysler honchos file Chapter-Whichever, restructure their red-ends to make 'em lots blacker, then clear out the inventory with the mother of all clearance sales. Oh, and one thing I forgot. From now on they SWEAR to begin designing a product that people actually frigging WANT. That or next time around we wave bye-bye while kicking up some dust from that Jap-Kraut-ROK-o'mobile and leave Detroit in the rearview mirror for good.

UPDATE on new range in Woodbridge, Virginia

"First up, the permit for the range contains a provision that prohibits
all but law enforcement from carrying firearms to and from the range -
unless they're unloaded and cased. That's illegal based on Virginia's
preemption laws, and must be stricken from the permit. It most likely
will be stricken based on what I learned at the planning commission
two weeks ago, but we need to push to make sure.

Next, there is a condition that no firearm cleaning or 'major work' -
presumably gunsmithing or manufacturing may take place on site.
Students are taught to clean firearms in some NRA classes and that
would preclude that kind of course from being taught! Oh, and of
course there is a ***special provision*** that REQUIRES the range to
install a special cleaning facility for law enforcement ONLY! What a
sweetheart deal! So who is going to pay for such special
considerations for the local police? Most likely all the other
customers using the range. :-(

There is also a provision requiring the range to make itself available
for law enforcement only training after hours as well. Do they do the
same thing to restaurants? Require that the restaurants are to remain
available after hours if the police wish to hold a banquet?

VCDL has no objection to the range being used by law enforcement, but
the way the permit conditions of use are written it appears that it
will be at everyone else's expense.

It's one thing for the owner of the range to have special facilities
for the police, if he so chooses. It is another for PWPD to shove
such requirements down the owner's throat! Government just doesn't
understand how private business works in America and given the chance,
government will screw up private businesses every time with
unnecessary and unreasonable requirements that hurt the businesses'
bottom lines."

And there are STILL those who don't believe how far afield law enforcement has gone in their belief that somehow, someway, THEY are the ones running the show and THEY are the ones deserving of special treatment.

Tell you what would happen in a free society; the good citizens of Woodbridge, Virginia would petition their local politicians to straighten these idiots out posthaste, and failing that call for the immediate firing of any and all cops agreeing with these ridiculous stipulations, or FREEBIES if you'd like to get technical, because that's precisely what they are.

The time has long since past for ALL of us to join together and put a stop to such goings on, but to tell the truth brother's and sister's this is a chicken or the egg scenario.

Do cops pull such bullshit in places forever bereft of those who'd take umbrage, or do the truly brave souls head for the hills once a town slides so deep into the septic tank, and leave none but the sheeple in charge. In other words, are some towns a'borned for the meek or do they become that way.

How DO the traitorous scum who call themselves peace officers get so deeply entrenched, so beyond a shadow of a doubt that THEY call the shots. And tell the truth, could it happen in YOUR town, too?

The boats quickly sank, dumping the teens in the swift current of 42-degree water.

Dashboard gadget lets drivers warn others about speed cameras

"Drivers who spot hidden speed cameras will be able to warn other vehicles with the help of a dashboard gadget.

Motorists who have the Mini Coyote installed in their car will be able to press a button, alerting others within three seconds of the speedtrap.

The satellite-positioning device transmits the location of the camera to a processing centre.

The information is then relayed to other drivers who have installed the same equipment.

The £199 gadget sends out an alarm and colour-coded warning letting drivers know how frequently the camera has been reported.

It also displays the car’s speed, the speed limit and the distance to the camera.

A car travelling (sic) 300 yards behind the driver who first spots the trap would receive the warning in time to slow down before the camera.

More then 50,000 drivers in France already have the new device. They reported 27,000 speed traps in September.

Novus, the company behind the Mini Coyote, is taking advantage of a legal grey area.

Although police forces sometimes warn that drivers could be prosecuted for perverting the course of justice if they try to alert other drivers to speed traps, there have been very few successful prosecutions.

Road safety groups have warned that the device undermines the ability of police to enforce the limit because drivers would be able to speed with very little risk of being caught.

Robert Gifford, director of the Parliamentary Advisory Council for Transport Safety, told The Times: 'It should be made clear to drivers who are thinking of buying these devices that they could be prosecuted for perverting the course of justice.'"

When a government finds ways to tax those wishing to get somewhere faster than the snails who clog the world's roadways, it behooves the intelligent driver to use similar technologies to avoid such arbitrary restrictions, that are in no way, shape or form to do with safety and EVERYTHING to do with reaching into our pockets to fund one socialist agenda or another.

I've slowed down a great deal since my salad days, hell, hardly exceed 90 anymore but I do drive somewhat faster than the run-of-the-mill soccer mom who of course is balancing a cell phone in one hand and a hair brush or lipstick tube in the other while striving mightily to master a 2-ton behemoth laughingly referred to as a SPORTS Utility Vehicle. Far more energy is wasted in creeping along behind such dangerous dolts so don't dare try and make it seem like most enforcements are about anything other than MONEY.

In over 40 years of driving I've only been ticketed once for speeding, but am aware of the probability that I'm simply not as good at spotting traps as when I was a twenty-something.

How about you?

Ann Coulter On The Lie That McCain Ran As A Conservative...

"For the first time in 32 years, Democrats got more than 50 percent of the country to vote for their candidate in a national election, and now they want to lecture the Republican Party on how to win elections. Liberal Republicans have joined them, both groups hoping no one will notice that we just lost this election by running the candidate they chose for us.

For years, New York Times columnist David Brooks has been writing mash notes to John McCain. In November 2007, he quoted an allegedly "smart-alecky" political consultant who exclaimed, in private, "You know, there's really only one great man running for president this year, and that's McCain."

"My friend's remark," Brooks somberly intoned, "had the added weight of truth."

Brooks gushed, "I can tell you there is nobody in politics remotely like him," and even threw down the gauntlet, saying: "You will never persuade me that he is not among the finest of men."

That took guts at the Times, where McCain is constantly praised by the op-ed columnists and was endorsed by the paper in the Republican primary. Even Frank Rich has hailed McCain as the "most experienced and principled" of the Republicans and said no one in either party "has more experience in matters of war than the Arizona senator" -- the biggest rave issued by Rich since "Rent" opened on Broadway.

They adored McCain at the Times! Does anyone here not see a cluster of bright red flags?

In January this year, Brooks boasted of McCain's ability to attract "independents."

And then Election Day arrived, and all the liberals who had spent years praising McCain all voted for Obama. Independents voted for Palin or voted against Obama. No one outside of McCain's immediate family was specifically voting for McCain.

But now Brooks presumes to lecture Republicans about what to do next time. How about: "Don't take David Brooks' advice"?

According to Brooks, the reason McCain lost was -- naturally -- that he ran as a conservative. If only presidential candidates would spurn polls, modern political history, evidence from campaign rallies, facts on the ground and listen to the wishful thinking of Times columnists!

If McCain lost because he ran as a conservative, then how come I knew McCain was going to lose before Brooks did? About the same time Brooks was touting McCain's uncanny ability to attract independents, I was writing, accurately: "John McCain is Bob Dole minus the charm, conservatism and youth."

If liberals are going to use their first majority vote in a national election since Helen Thomas was spilling champagne on Liza at Studio 54 to lecture Republicans on how to win elections, I have a tip for them based on the exact same election: Constitutional amendments banning gay marriage passed in every state they were on the ballot -- Florida, Arizona, even in liberal California.

I'll accept the results of the presidential election, if you anti-Proposition 8 die-hards in California accept the results of that vote. Earth to protestors: Most Americans oppose gay marriage. On this, even blacks and Mormons are agreed! Why don't you people go find something useful to do?

Let's see, who was avidly pro-gay-marriage? Oh I remember: The guy who's once again lecturing Republicans on how to win elections: David Brooks."

Pretty much anyone who is reading this shivered at the thought of John McCain becoming President, and it was only his seemingly being the lesser of two evils that bade many of us to fight AGAINST Obama rather than FOR McCain.

So before EVERYONE rewrites history, take a moment to content yourself with the fact that McCain NEVER was the Conservative Republican's choice and damned if we didn't not only know this but wrote about it for the past two years.

McCain lost because he was wishy-washy when it came to standing on his hind legs and espousing true Conservative values...AND...perhaps most of all, because when push came to shove he turned out to be one creepy sumbitch. Governor Palin came damned close to making up for his lack of spine but no where near close enough.

So Lemme Get This Straight...

American automakers have had decades to respond and retool in order to make a car that people would flock to in droves, failed yet AGAIN as the public continued to do business with foreign competition because of little things such as fuel economy, safety, world-class technology and kickass design, but still deserve to get bailed out of the financial woes that were mostly their doing to begin with.

I know; blame the workers for making too much money, blame the government for asking that their overpriced pieces of shit be made well, but never blame THEM for making a product nobody really wants all that much.

As a one-time, quintessential, Mr. ALWAYS-BUY-AMERICAN, even I must admit that the pipedreams of the early 70's when Toyota and Honda were just entering the market and already kicking GM and Ford's collective ass, were just that.

Wishful thinking that would have one believe these dinosaurs could EVER make enough exciting automobiles in order to truly compete with hungry newcomers.

The people spoke, the products just weren't good enough so WE need to make up for their stupidity.

Nature abhors a vacuum and so does the open market. Sure unemployment would temporarily skyrocket if American automakers went belly-up, but people aren't going to suddenly STOP buying cars. The void would soon be filled by those making GOOD CARS, and if that's too complicated a proposition then we need an immediate RECALL of every defective politician who'd vote for spending good money after bad.

Let the free market sort it out, and case closed.

Ruminations Upon A Desultory Philippic

Tuned in to Rush this afternoon, and at once heard him refer to W giving Commander ZERO a tour of the...drumroll please...Oval Orifice.

Since I've been referring to it that way for quite a while now, began calling RodHam that back when she first tossed her pantsuit into the ring, am wondering if the fat man has stopped by now and again.

Marine Corps Birthday

To jarheads the world over. Happy 233rd Birthday.

And many happy returns.

Semper Fidelis.

Oh and PS: Keep the powder dry. We might need it before long if this dirtbag gets his way.

D.C. Police Lead Nation in Shootings

"The District of Columbia's Metropolitan Police Department has shot and killed more people per resident in the 1990s than any other large American city police force.

Many shootings by Washington police officers were acts of courage and even heroism. But internal police files and court records reveal a pattern of reckless and indiscriminate gunplay by officers sent into the streets with inadequate training and little oversight, an eight-month Washington Post investigation has found.

Washington's officers fire their weapons at more than double the rate of police in New York, Los Angeles, Chicago or Miami. Deaths and injuries in D.C. police shooting cases have resulted in nearly $8 million in court settlements and judgments against the District in the last six months alone.

"We shoot too often, and we shoot too much when we do shoot," said Executive Assistant Chief of Police Terrance W. Gainer, who became the department's second in command in May.

The shootings involve a small proportion of the District's 3,550 officers. But the details of individual cases can be chilling even to police veterans: An off-duty police officer out walking his dog in August 1995 fired 11 times while trying to stop an unarmed motorist who had hit a utility pole and left the scene of the accident. An off-duty police officer fishing in May 1995 shot an unarmed man three times after arguing with him on the banks of Rock Creek. In August, an officer ended a police chase of an irrational truck driver who had rammed several cars by firing 38 times into the truck's cab, killing the unarmed driver.

The extent and pattern of police shootings have been obscured from public view. Police officials investigate incidents in secret, producing reports that become public only when a judge intercedes. In a small hearing room closed to the public, nine of every 10 shootings are ruled justified by department officials who read the reports filed by investigating officers but generally hear no witnesses."

I've said it before and will continue to do so until blue in the face:

Cops cause more crime than "we" do. By we, but of course I mean the citizen rifleman, or for that matter, anyone not a cop or a bad guy. Wait...

Whats the difference nowadays, anyway?

A Scam By Any Other Name...

Doesn't appear to be any truth to the rumor that Dynamic Research Technologies, manufacturer of Terminal Shock Bullets, is changing its name to Dynamic Innovative Research Technologies, or D.I.R.T. for short, in order to become compliant with truth in advertising laws.

Missouri Police Chief Wants To Better Protect The Public By Limiting Public Carry...

"The Webster-Kirkwood Times recently received several questions from readers concerning its Oct. 24 reporting on the Webster Groves City Council's passage of an amendment to the city code governing unlawful carrying of any lethal weapons in public, either openly or concealed.

Chief of Police Dale Curtis, told the Times that the intent of the amendment is to better protect the public's health, safety and welfare by limiting public carry. He said that Webster, in accordance with state statute, prohibits the carrying of concealed weapons except for those who are qualified, have applied for, and been granted a permit by Missouri or any other state that recognizes and grants a permit for concealed carry."

Translation: Why allow folks to be free when we can charge big bucks to license a right?

Preemption rearing its ugly head. You might be a bad boy so let's assume you ARE, up to and until you fork over the cash.

CHL Ban fails at Lubbock City Hall

An attempt to ban concealed carry permit holders form bringing weapons into Lubbock City Council meetings has failed.

The council turned down the proposal 5-2.

Linda DeLeon and Floyd Price were the only two council members to support the ordinance.

DeLeon said she does not feel comfortable with people other than peace officers carrying weapons during government meetings because emotions can flare up during debate..

The old "blood running in the streets" ploy, used to frighten people into believing that somehow, some way, police are more trustworthy of bearing firearms in such places as government buildings because...

...we're ALL still awaiting the because.

For as many of us know, we happen to be MORE capable and trustworthy than most members of law enforcement and believing otherwise simply shows how flat out stupid this incredibly inane broad really is. And let's not forget her abettor in nonsense, Mr. Floyd, who's probably just trying to get into her pants and really doesn't think that a badge makes the man.

Good for Lubbock. Grownups CAN control their emotions. Unless they happen to be lunatic fringe liberals named Linda and Floyd.

How True

Taken from here, after finding the link at Ride Fast & Shoot Straight. If I did happen to own any firearms, it'd resemble a corner of one of my sheds that I keep promising to sort through one day. Kinda.

News From Hogtown

So, Hogtown Irregular bylaws do not permit the use of any image capturing device. Not because we're some sort of secret para-military organization, but, generally speaking and yours truly included, the group features men of such abject homeliness that gaining possession of such likenesses should be illegal in all civilized corners of the world. Special dispensation was once gained to post a pic of a hog done in by a hand cannon, but the vote was close and included much vitriol.

The attached YouTube video is the one that stirred Ert Slaughter into desperately yearning for a .458 Lott - from Ruger at about $1400 out the door - as a birthday present. A Lott can be loaded to the rough equivalent of a .500 Nitro Express as seen in the video, and if it can do THAT to an elephant then imagine what it'd do to a thousand-pound hog.

Ballistics, you ask? How's about a 500-grainer scooting along at 2600 fps from a 23" tube.

We're off to find a thousand-pounder. Not that anyone has ever heard tell of so large a porcine in these environs, but if we DO and Ert can it down with one squeeze, then the vote was 38-4 in favor of preserving so noble a hunt on tape.

Again, this video is not of Ert nor any High Marshall in action, just a primer on how we'll do it should the stars align.

Sagacity From Some Long Dead Old White Guy

"A free people ought not only to be armed and disciplined, but they should have sufficient arms and ammunition to maintain a status of independence from any who might attempt to abuse them, which would include their own government."

George Washington

Now why don't our so-called "Conservative" politico's ever ask the marxist left why is that they think guys like old George were flat out wrong? Beg pardon? They've not a clue as to WHAT the Founding Fathers had to say on the matter?

Sorry I asked.

Political Reality 101

Welcome to the boob tube's rendition of who should be President. JFK was the first real glamor boy to woo Ma & Pa Kettle, and defeated old Dour Dick. Dick only made a comeback when facing the likes of Hubie, and Carter came along and smiled his way to the Presidency over Flappable Ford. Then the movie star decided to run and swamped Mr. Peanut but good. The movie star's stand-in then had a go at it and the election wasn't even a contest. Suddenly one day an otherwise hideous but grinning hillbilly named Willy sent hearts all aflutter and whopped aging less-than-gorgeous-George, then kneecapped crippled old Dole just for the fun of it. Enter Top-Gun who certainly had fun in out-manning Algore, then Lurch. Obama had nothing to say but since McCain had his day and it was loooooong over with, the adorers drooled him into the Oval Office.

Since the advent of television, the candidate who can project the best personality and/or handsomeness, ALWAYS wins. Doesn't matter if he's a marxist son of a bitch who'd trade Israel for some Arab lovin, doesn't matter one little snickle. So forget looking for Mr. Conservative to fly in to save the day come ought-12. Forget his stand on the Constitution, his personal honor system, his record.

He damned well better look good in tights.

Anatomy Of A Loon

"Liberal poster boy Tim Robbins, partner of movie star Susan Sarandon, caused a ruckus at a Manhattan polling center this morning when he learned his name was removed from the voting rolls.

Robbins, an actor and director, reportedly started screaming when a poll worker asked him to move over to make more room for other voters.

Police were called in and Robbins ended up going to a Manhattan courthouse to get proof he is a registered voter. He then returned to the YMCA on 14th Street to cast a ballot.

"He was real upset and obnoxious," a polling clerk at the YMCA told The Post after the incident.

The clerk quoted Robbins as saying, "I'm a voter and I have a right to be here."

The very nature of liberals is to be angry. You can spot them driving, walking the dog, picking up a pizza. They are entitled, owed the world, and yeah, that's who drives the car taking up several parking spaces and that's who puts those dings in your car when forced to use only one spot. When Bill Clinton was President, true liberals were miserable. They had no authority figure to hate, no windmill to tilt, so they began forming million mommy marches and banning smoking in restaurants and demanding unisex rest rooms.

They once again got their wish. They sat an idiot in the Oval Office. By summer, they'll be itching to scream about some person, place, or thing, so look for the push to ban, prohibit, or flat out destroy something you hold dear.

Apologies From The Sunshine State

Sorry we didn't do a good enough job here in Florida. Close only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades and there's simply no excuse for letting this marxist pig win. At the end of the day, too many Ma and Pa Kettles were fooled and too many others wanted a free lunch. And most important of all, John McCain didn't have enough of the right stuff.

America survived Carter and Clinton and world wars. The grand experiment will survive Hussein just fine thank you very much and a well needed wake up call might be what the doctor ordered. But one thing is not negotiable.

If this cretin has his way and sends his traitors for the guns I'll pack Lisa off to her parents. Then make the bastards pay dearly. Wouldn't be the first time I hunkered down and prepared for the worst and while I'm no kid anymore I do believe there's still one good ass kicking left inside. We'll see.

For now, though, the country needs all of its patriots to stand tall and man the wall as best they can. Should worse come to worse then Fort Fits secedes from the Union and let the commie frigs earn their living for a change.

Final word to the wise. Be well regulated.

Up to 1 Million Expected at Obama Rally in Chicago

CHICAGO -- "Hundreds of people have begun lining up outside Chicago's Grant Park for tonight's rally for Barack Obama.

City officials said as many as 1 million people are expected at Grant Park to hold a rally for the Democratic presidential candidate that supporters hope will become a historic victory celebration."

Prediction: If shit for brains wins, his tribe will riot and rape and assault with glee. If shit for brains loses, his tribe will go fucking bananas and riot and rape and assault with murderous intent.
Either way, it isn't as if this should come as a shock to anyone, and the idiots who set this up should be drawn and quartered.

Flag-waving gunman closes Calif. highway

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – "A masked gunman waving an American flag and a handgun on a freeway overpass surrendered to police Monday after forcing a traffic shutdown for hours.

The man gave himself up at midmorning west of downtown Santa Barbara at Highway 101, a major route along the California coast. No shots were fired. Traffic was backed at least three miles in each direction.

The man agreed to give up after he was allowed to attach a Barack Obama campaign sign and the flag to the overpass railing, said police Sgt. Jim Pfleging.

Police were continuing to investigate a duffel bag and the man's car at the scene but "we have no credible threats or any threats of explosives," Pfleging said.

Police identified the man as 28-year-old Eddie Van Tassel. Pfleging said the man is believed to be a service veteran and will receive a mental health evaluation.

The man, wearing a ski mask and brown fatigues, had the flag in one hand and the gun in the other when officers arrived on the highway's La Cumbre Avenue overpass just after 7:10 a.m., said police Sgt. Lorenzo Duarte.

A police special weapons and tactics team and a crisis negotiation team used a bullhorn to communicate with him. After nearly three hours, he put the handgun on the ground and walked backward to police officers.

As for the man's motive, Duarte said, "The reason appears to be anti-war, but I don't know the specifics."

Typical Kalifornified nutcase. Threaten people with a firearm to protest violence. Gotcha.

Outrage over 'chastity belt' lingerie fitted with GPS tracking system

"Feminists around the world have reacted with horror to a new line of lingerie that comes equipped with a GPS tracking system.

The 'find me if you can' range of underwear has been described as a modern-day, high-tech chastity belt.

'It is outrageous to think that men can buy this, programme it and give it to their partners and then monitor them,' said Claudia Burghart, leader of a Berlin feminist group.

'It is nothing more than a chastity belt for insecure men.'

Lingerie maker Lucia Lorio of Brazil says her design targets the 'modern, techno-savvy woman'.

The lingerie combination set consists of lace bodice, bikini bottom and faux pearl collar, with the GPS device nestled in the see-through part of the bodice next to the waist.

'This collection... is a wink to women and a challenge to men because, even if she gives him the password to her GPS, she can always turn it off,' Lorio said.

'It's not a modern chastity belt. Some men think they can keep tabs on their girlfriends with it, but they're wrong,' she added."

Yep. Feminazi's "around the world" can raise voice in umbrage over a silly toy, but let a moslem maniac slaughter every last female in his household because his camel tail soup was cold, and...crickets.

Election Eve

I've been quiet for a time with regards to the election; difficult to watch the media do its utmost to swing the country towards a marxist bastard who consorts with terrorists and just plain bad people. I still believe that Hussein is unelectable, still think that the country hasn't been fooled that much, and that if he does pull it out of a hat it'll be just that. A landslide of dead men and invisible men voting could make this thing tight, but I prefer to remain an optimist.

John McCain and Sara Palin will beat their asses.

Done deal.

Florida 49, Georgia 10

Muzzling The Bulldogs

Anyone who has been to a boxing match will tell you that being there in person is miles ahead of having a look see on the boob tube. You can see each fighters facial expression, hear their grunts and groans, the impact of the punches, and know who is about to go bye-bye once those quivering legs give up the ghost.

Same is true for a lot of sporting events, providing you have a decent enough vantage point. This afternoons drubbing by the Florida Gators over the hapless Georgia Bulldogs was one of those events. From the get-go Georgia just didn't look like they belonged on the same field, as last years Heisman Trophy winner Tim Tebow accounted for 5 touchdowns, 2 throwing, 3 running, even though everyone on God's green earth knew what was coming and when. When Georgia tried playing catch-up they made mistake after mistake letting it all hang out in trying to stay close to the fastest team in all college football. This team on this day would have drubbed anyone, and even the artificial intelligence of the BCS should be able to determine who is really ready for prime time.

Florida runs the table, beats Alabama for the SEC title - 45-20, then takes on Penn State for the BCS championship. Which they win 38-17.
