So okay, I'll bite. Bloomy basically wants only cops to have guns, and that's typical of tyrants the world over. Typical of liberals the world over as well, but dictators and socialists are really the same animule.
In NYC, the most dangerous occupation is construction worker. 3 to 4 times as many of them die each year as compared to police officers killed in the line of duty. But sure, okay, it's dangerous yet most of the hard hats are killed accidentally. A close second on the list are transportation workers. A great many of them are robbed and killed, lots more so than law enforcement. In fact, more transportation workers are murdered in the greater NY area than police NATIONWIDE. So it cannot simply be the danger level of one's occupation that drives this nutcase to make such ridiculous statements and unreasonable demands.
Civilian deaths? Somewhere along the lines of 500-600 In NYC and even when you eliminate the gang-bangers offing one another, that leaves a hundred or so law abiding citizens knifed or gunned down. Hell, more street-sweepers die at work than law enforcement, and MOST LE deaths are from accidents while directing traffic, so a resounding NO to actual danger versus the right to defend oneself as determined by liberal politicians.
Then there's the hate for cops, the liberal despisement that is sublimated just long enough to try and fool us into believing they really care when the rarity of a cop dying violently in the line of duty goes down. Cops just don't die at work all that much. But let ONE be killed by a gun, and this allows the grabbers to hop atop the casket and preach gun control.
Hell, stricter construction safety standards would save a lot more lives and money far better spent then going after legally armed citizens, and taxi and limosine commisions asking for a tenth the money LE gets for body armor would protect cabbies and limo drivers and bus operators, and mass transit workers, the ones being killed far more frequently.
So it's all one big snowjob, isn't it. Using law enforcement casualties as a means to an end. The end being the confiscation of firearms and the death of the 2nd Amendment.
These are some sick bastards. Disarm the nation, and we'd need 3 or 4 times the amount of police, not to DEFEND, that's not what police do, but to be the avengers that the criminal justice system really is. 40% of all murders go unsolved. Less guns in the hands of citizens means more, LOTS more murders and rapes and robberies and home invasions. The staggering burden this would place on the economy alone is incalculable.
Americans, berift of their right to bear arms and awash in the sea of liberal-created thugs would make Iraq look like a walk in the park. France would be laughing at US.
