A Shot At Learning How To

by: SHEENA DELAZIO and REBECCA BRIA

"Many women won’t leave the house without a purse or lip gloss. But for others, like Barb Smith of Sugarloaf, the daily routine includes something more.

A handgun.

Smith carries the gun during her long commutes to a local hospital -- for protection, she said. The side roads she takes to shorten her drive don’t give her a good feeling, but knowing she has her handgun makes her feel secure."

Barb Smith, of Sugarloaf, puts the clip (sic) in her .22-caliber Baretta (sic) handgun. Smith carries the gun back and forth during her long commute to a local hospital for protection. The side roads she takes to shorten her drive don’t give her a good feeling, but knowing she has her handgun makes her feel secure.

Sigh. Write a halfway decent story about more and more women becoming interested in self-defense, then blow it by mentioning "clip". And could it hurt to learn how to spell Beretta?

Too typical.
