Mosin Sighting In

This is how one adjusts the Nagant for its abominable front sight picture designed to be a Nazi belt-buckle-popper at 300 yards.

The link is here, and I'll let ya know how it works soon.

Oh and by the way, one ragged hole at 50 yards is not only possible but quite doable. With decent enough ammo but of course.

The sighing ring is sufficient for the average Soviet soldier/rifleman at 100 yards to being down a bad guy.

That's what I've been discovering, Bad; yet some of my friends continue to shoot high even with 145 grain ammo. I think, and of course could be wrong, that different armories turned out different point of impact variants.

We're all shooting from a solid rest and while I'm smack on center @ 100, Ert for example can't even find the point of impact as his rifle shoots so high.

The rifle's been your heart and soul for long, it is easy for you to be on target at 100.

Me, I have to aim about six inches low and six inches to the left to compensate for how I shoot.

But at 50 I can hold a three inch group, pretty good for an old man,IMO

From its date and point of manufacture my hopeful presumption has been that it killed many a Nazi; hence the allure. Now if I could only get others to shoot the bloody things well...

I've heard of some people using pieces of blue plastic Qtip slipped over the front sight blade to adjust POA down as needed. Cheesy solution, but I can say it does work.
