An external intrusion on our system has affected our PlayStation Network and Qriocity services. In order to conduct a thorough investigation and to verify the smooth and secure operation of our network services going forward, we turned off PlayStation Network & Qriocity services on the evening of Wednesday, April 20th. Providing quality entertainment services to our customers and partners is our utmost priority. We are doing all we can to resolve this situation quickly, and we once again thank you for your patience. We will continue to update you promptly as we have additional information to share.
Thank you very much for your patience while we work to resolve this matter.
During this time you may:
- Not be able to access the PlayStation®Store
- Have difficulty signing in to the PlayStation®Network
- Not be able to play online games
- See a maintenance page when attempting to access the PlayStation®Network
First Amazon then PlayStation. The PS site has been offline since Thursday, and lots of folks who were planing on mega-gaming over the Easter break are spitting fire over this.
The hacker community has been up in arms over Sony suing folks for jailbreaking the PS3 and it seems like they've found a way to disrupt not only a free, but a pay-for-play service.

i know the names of 8 or 9 hackers that i've personally tracked down and turned in to the proper authorities. do i need to post there user names on this bog to get this to end?
Posting "there" user names won't do any good. On any "bog". Unfortunately, such pseudonyms can be problematic due to the fact that big_dick_willy is such a favorite and hard to pin on any one particular idiot. We could see who refuses to employ the appropriate capital letters when beginning a sentence, though, and work from there.
