More From The Land Of Fruits & Nuts: Off With The Plastic And In With The Paper

San Jose bans plastic bags

San Jose became the largest U.S. city to ban plastic carry-out bags Tuesday with an ordinance that supporters said was the most far-reaching in the country aimed at encouraging shoppers to bring reusable totes.

The ordinance, approved on a 10-1 vote after two years of study, wouldn't become effective until Jan. 1, 2012, to allow for more public outreach. It would prohibit retailers from giving out disposable plastic bags at the check stand and require them to charge for paper bags.
"This is a great step," Councilman Sam Liccardo said. "It's an opportunity to lead on an important environmental issue."

First they foisted plastic bags upon us in order to "save a tree", and now they tell us to fuck the trees and switch back to paper. Since lunatic liberal mood-swings are cyclic, expect a time in the not too distant future where they remember how warm and cuddly all those trees were and mandate a return to plastic.

And, pray tell, just when did the government, ANY government, get the right to tell its citizens what sort of tote to use when shopping?

Schools test iPads in classrooms

Before, during and even between classes at Hillbrook School this fall, seventh-graders have been spotted on the Los Gatos campus, sometimes burbling Spanish or Mandarin phrases into the glowing screen in their hands, other times staring into it like a looking glass.

iPads -- the Apple of almost every adolescent's eye -- are being provided to students at several Bay Area public and private schools this year, including Hillbrook, which claims to be the only K-8 school in America using tablet computers in class and sending them home. This has led to a lot of 12-year-olds swanning around the wooded hillside campus, talking to their iPads.

Summoning up a virtual keyboard recently, Sophie Greene quickly typed a note to herself in iCal, a calendar program, then played back an audio file in which she was speaking Spanish. "We record a conversation, e-mail it to our teacher, SeƱorita Kelly," she explained, "then she critiques the lesson in Spanish and sends that back to us."

For the 28 seventh-graders entrusted with iPads at Hillbrook, the pictures that flash across the device's screen open a window to a wider world. The iPad allows them to take daily excursions across time and space to such exotic ports as ancient Mesopotamia and modern China.

So we can expect a massive increase in the collective grade point average, right? And California to soon lead the country in the brightest happy camping kids of all ages? Right?

Not that I believe they're using the entry-level iPad, the $500 one, but hell, that's still cheap because its been proven time and again that all one need do to send test scores through the roof is to throw money at the schools.

Right?

And while alla them swanning kids might be falling in lust with ancient Mesopotamia and China, this is going to be a dynamite way to teach American History as well, right?

And since the entire state of California is soon to be bankrupted by the incredible liberal spending sprees that are coming home to roost, what's another $1000 $500 per child  expenditure amongst friends, right? After all, it isn't as if the companies that sold them the devices are going to ask for them back when payment stops.

That's sooooooooooo capitalist.

Another Objection To Barry Using Bill As The DH

The past Friday, the fears of many conservatives were confirmed: This man who wears the title of President is in way over his head.

The spectacle that took place in the White House, where former President Bill Clinton came to the rescue of our "too busy to be bothered" leader, was just another indication of how overwhelmed and under-concerned this man is for the future of America.

To cede the Presidential podium to a stand-in while trying to feign concern over the pending tax legislation bill that had been proposed is cowardly. To walk away from that podium - to escape from that moment using the little woman as an excuse is abominable! We were given a front row seat to a President who felt his Christmas party with the Mrs. was more important than the potential tax increases that would face 100% of all Americans on January 1st.

At what point will the issues regarding Americans finally touch the sensitivities of the President? Can you imagine him calling for a stand-in during a pickup game where he is forced to shoot a 3-pointer from the baseline? I don't see that happening. When he's got a long bunker shot with a long iron and the lip to the bunker is precariously positioned between him and the green, would you expect to see him call for his envoy to take that shot? Doubtful.

Our President, in no uncertain terms, has communicated to us, once again, that he simply doesn't have the time to deal with the trivialities of governing.

The bottom line is this: If it's important to the man, then he'll take care of it himself. If not, delegate, beg or buy someone to do the dirty work for him. With this new sense of Presidential prowess-that is giving his duties to others: I can only hope that when it comes time to deal with Iran or North Korea that the man will once again step aside and let someone like John Bolton take the podium for him! G.W.B. Keep the suit pressed and cleaned.

None of this is news to anyone paying the least bit attention. It's worth a read because shining a bright light on vermin usually gets them to scatter, and since the Yellowstream Media won't, its up to us.

Cops Shoot Suspect...Then Their Own Dog...And Lie About It...

"While searching the complex for the suspect, officers heard a single gunshot in the wooded area in the rear of the building. The officers then attempted a canine track ... into the wooded area, but were originally unsuccessful. As the officer began to exit the woods, the canine alerted [officers] to the presence of the suspect in a heavy brush and thicket area. The canine then engaged the suspect. As the officers approached, they heard several gunshots and encountered the suspect, who pointed his handgun toward them and began firing additional shots.

The portion in italics was discovered to be a boldfaced lie, as the suspects pistol was found to be unfired. So the cops went in guns a blazing, shot the man along with their own K9, then had bronze enough balls to lie about it, even to the point of sending him the vets bill ($46,704) for treating the injured dog.

These lying wastes of oxygen were caught redhanded and remain busy trying to lie even more to prevent society's punishment for their nefarious deeds. Happens every day in every clime and place where modern law enforcement hangs a hat; Cops lie, the truth somehow surfaces, then the blue wall of silence surrounds and protects them from prosecution. Obama Ready For A Fight...

As fellow Democrats accuse him of caving in to Republicans on the tax cut deal, President Obama is repeatedly promising them that he will fight the GOP aggressively when it takes over the U.S. House and adds senators next month.

"I will be happy to see the Republicans test whether or not I'm itching for a fight on a whole range of issues," Obama said last week. "I suspect they will find I am. And I think the American people will be on my side on a whole bunch of these fights."

So lemme see if I get the gist of this; for the past 2 years Americans have thoroughly repudiated everything Barack Obama has brought to the table, but now...but now he suspects that Americans will suddenly leap to do his bidding...

I see.

Does this mean he's converted to Reaganism? No more socialist programs, no giveaways, no pork, no emasculating the American military, no bowing to dictators, no gun-grabbing, no free lunches AT ALL from Uncle Sam?

Wow. If he puts his money where his mouth is then he's got me behind him. Right after I leave some cookies for Santa and start getting ready to greet the Easter Bunny.

We Get Letters

Subject: FW: USMC

On Nov 13, 2010 Lt General John Kelly, USMC gave a speech to the
Semper Fi Society of St. Louis, MO. This was 4 days after his son, Lt
Robert Kelly, USMC was killed by an IED while on his 3rd Combat tour.
During his speech, General Kelly spoke about the dedication and valor of the
young men and women who step forward each and every day to protect us.
During the speech, he never mentioned the loss of his own son. He closed
the speech with the moving account of the last 6 seconds in the lives of 2
young Marines who died with rifles blazing to protect their brother Marines.

"I will leave you with a story about the kind of people they
are about the quality of the steel in their backs, about the kind of
dedication they bring to our country while they serve in uniform and forever
 after as veterans.

Two years ago when I was the Commander of all U.S. and Iraqi forces,
in fact, the 22nd of April 2008, two Marine infantry battalions, 1/9 "The
Walking Dead," and 2/8 were switching out in Ramadi. One battalion in the
closing days of their deployment going home very soon, the other just
starting its seven-month combat tour. Two Marines, Corporal Jonathan Yale
and Lance Corporal Jordan Haerter, 22 and 20 years old respectively, one
from each battalion, were assuming the watch together at the entrance gate
of an outpost that contained a makeshift barracks housing 50 Marines. The
same broken down ramshackle building was also home to 100 Iraqi police,   also
my men and our allies in the fight against the terrorists in Ramadi, a city
until recently the most dangerous city on earth and owned by Al Qaeda.

Yale was a dirt poor mixed-race kid from Virginia with a wife and
daughter, and a mother and sister who lived with him and he supported as
well. He did this on a yearly salary of less than $23,000. Haerter, on the
other hand, was a middle class white kid from Long Island. They were from
two completely different worlds. Had they not joined the Marines they would
never have met each other, or understood that multiple America's exist
simultaneously depending on one's race, education level, economic status,
and where you might have been born. But they were Marines, combat Marines,
forged in the same crucible of Marine training, and because of this bond
they were brothers as close, or closer, than if they were born of the same
 woman.

The mission orders they received from the sergeant squad leader I am
sure went something like: "Okay you two clowns, stand this post and let no
unauthorized personnel or vehicles pass." "You clear?" I am also sure Yale
and Haerter then rolled their eyes and said in unison something like:

"Yes Sergeant," with just enough attitude that made the point
without saying the words, "No kidding sweetheart, we know what we're doing."
They then relieved two other Marines on watch and took up their post at the
entry control point of Joint Security Station Nasser, in the Sophia section
 of Ramadi, Al Anbar, Iraq.

A few minutes later a large blue truck turned down the alley
way-perhaps 60-70 yards in length-and sped its way through the serpentine f
concrete jersey walls. The truck stopped just short of where the two were posted and detonated, killing them both catastrophically. Twenty-four brick  masonry houses were damaged or destroyed. A mosque 100 yards away  collapsed. The truck's engine came to rest two hundred yards away knocking
most of a house down before it stopped. Our explosive experts reckoned the
blast was made of 2,000 pounds of explosives. Two died, and because these
two young infantrymen didn't have it in their DNA to run from danger, they
saved 150 of their Iraqi and American brothers-in-arms.

When I read the situation report about the incident a few hours
after it happened I called the regimental commander for details as something
about this struck me as different. Marines dying or being seriously wounded
is commonplace in combat. We expect Marines regardless of rank or MOS to
stand their ground and do their duty, and even die in the process, if that
is what the mission takes. But this just seemed different. The regimental
commander had just returned from the site and he agreed, but reported that
there were no American witnesses to the event-just Iraqi police. I figured
if there was any chance of finding out what actually happened and then to
decorate the two Marines to acknowledge their bravery, I'd have to do it as
a combat award that requires two eye-witnesses and we figured the
bureaucrats back in Washington would never buy Iraqi statements. If it had
any chance at all, it had to come under the signature of a general officer.

I traveled to Ramadi the next day and spoke individually to a
half-dozen Iraqi police all of whom told the same story. The blue truck
turned down into the alley and immediately sped up as it made its way
through the serpentine. They all said, "We knew immediately what was going
on as soon as the two Marines began firing." The Iraqi police then related
that some of them also fired, and then to a man, ran for safety just prior
to the explosion. All survived. Many were injured.some seriously. One of
the Iraqis elaborated and with tears welling up said, "They'd run like any
normal man would to save his life." "What he didn't know until then," he
said, "and what he learned that very instant, was that Marines are not
normal." Choking past the emotion he said, "Sir, in the name of God no sane
man would have stood there and done what they did." "No sane man."

 "They saved us all."

What we didn't know at the time, and only learned a couple of days
later after I wrote a summary and submitted both Yale and Haerter for
posthumous Navy Crosses, was that one of our security cameras, damaged
initially in the blast, recorded some of the suicide attack. It happened
exactly as the Iraqis had described it. It took exactly six seconds from
when the truck entered the alley until it detonated.

You can watch the last six seconds of their young lives. Putting
myself in their heads I supposed it took about a second for the two Marines
to separately come to the same conclusion about what was going on once the
truck came into their view at the far end of the alley. Exactly no time to
talk it over, or call the sergeant to ask what they should do. Only enough
time to take half an instant and think about what the sergeant told them to
do only a few minutes before: ".let no unauthorized personnel or vehicles
pass." The two Marines had about five seconds left to live.

It took maybe another two seconds for them to present their weapons,
take aim, and open up. By this time the truck was half-way through the
barriers and gaining speed the whole time. Here, the recording shows a
number of Iraqi police, some of whom had fired their AKs, now scattering
like the normal and rational men they were-some running right past the
Marines.

They had three seconds left to live.

For about two seconds more, the recording shows the Marines' weapons
firing non-stop.the truck's windshield exploding into shards of glass as
their rounds take it apart and tore in to the body of the SOB who is trying
to get past them to kill their brothers-American and Iraqi-bedded down in
the barracks totally unaware of the fact that their lives at that moment
depended entirely on two Marines standing their ground. If they had been
aware, they would have known they were safe, because two Marines stood
between them and a crazed suicide bomber. The recording shows the truck
careening to a stop immediately in front of the two Marines. In all of the
instantaneous violence Yale and Haerter never hesitated. By all reports and
by the recording, they never stepped back. They never even started to step
aside. They never even shifted their weight. With their feet spread
shoulder width apart, they leaned into the danger, firing as fast as they
could work their weapons. They had only one second left to live.

The truck explodes. The camera goes blank. Two young men go to
their God.

Six seconds. Not enough time to think about their families, their
country, their flag, or about their lives or their deaths, but more than
enough time for two very brave young men to do their duty, into eternity.
That is the kind of people who are on watch all over the world tonight-for
you.

We Marines believe that God gave America the greatest gift he could
bestow to man while he lived on this earth-freedom. We also believe he gave
us another gift nearly as precious-our soldiers, sailors, airmen, Coast
Guardsmen, and Marines-to safeguard that gift and guarantee no force on this
earth can ever steal it away. It has been my distinct honor to have been
with you here today. Rest assured our America, this experiment in democracy
started over two centuries ago, will forever remain the "land of the free
and home of the brave" so long as we never run out of tough young Americans
who are willing to look beyond their own self-interest and comfortable
lives, and go into the darkest and most dangerous places on earth to hunt
down, and kill, those who would do us harm.

 God Bless America, and..SEMPER FIDELIS!"

Presented as I received it. With the only change being my deletion of the email address from whence it came. During my service as your Marine, I lost count of instances like this. Way too many to quantify, but the memory of each will be with me forever.

Cutlery Corner...Casting Pearls Before Swine...

"...If you buy one of these boxes you're guaranteed to get one pearl handled knaahf. Buy three of 'em and we'll make sure one is a stag handled knaafh.  That means one stag and two pearls but buy two and you don't get one and one just two pearls..."

Being an ardent fan of George Patton, it is my belief that only a pimp wears pearl. Men wear ivory but don't tell that to the fancy schmancy boys who fall for the mother of pearl pitch that tells them its okay to show their feminine side.

The "deal" James Frost and Todd Stumbles Boone are speaking of is one of their famous scams whereby they sell an unseen item called the "Mystery Box"...by swearing that its really a good deal because the product inside is one helluva humdinger. Come Monday, James A. Frost will face the camera and say "...Now you might not have gotten a $200 knaahf in our Mystery Box, but because you bought one your buddy probably did..."

The Great Government Grope Of 2010: Top-10 Failures Of The Obama Administration...

Behold the Top 10 Highlights of the Great Government Grope of 2010.  Don't you just swell with pride, seeing your tax dollars at play? (Careful you don't swell too much.  TSA agents are already complaining how yucky it is to strip-search "fatties.")

Folly One: The federal government sued Arizona for the ultimate crime: enforcing federal law!

Folly Two: The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) roughly gropes 3-year-old autistic children, old men with urine bags, and crippled women with artificial knees, just to avoid the liberal taboo of profiling.

Folly Three: Because your government cares so dang much about your every wart and sniffle, Obamacare was rammed through to destroy the best medical system in history.

Folly Four: TSA agents are spreading infectious diseases to thousands of travelers, and those naked body scanners are cancer-incubators run amok.

Folly Five: The government twiddled its thumbs, whistled Lady Gaga tunes, and downloaded episodes of "Lost" instead of shutting down WikiLeaks, or al-Qaeda's English language magazine, or thousands of crazy jihad sites and YouTube videos.

Folly Six: The Department of Homeland Security shut down 82 counterfeit goods and music sites overnight, without warning or due process.

Folly Seven: The president of the United States turned the world's attention to America's most bitter enemy: The Chamber of Commerce.

Folly Eight: The government "negotiated" with Taliban impostors and gave them "lots of money."

Folly Nine: 70% of Oklahoma voters voted to ban Shariah law, but Judge Vicki Miles-LaGrange said no.

Folly Ten: The Senate voted to nationalize the food supply and set up crime units to hunt down wayward tomatoes.  You can't be trusted with zucchini, America!

Wasting Our Taxs Dollars On Ethanol

IF YOU'RE wondering which of America's leaders are serious about cutting wasteful government spending, you might start by examining who's behind the effort to extend tax breaks to America's corn ethanol industry, which expire at the end of the year.

For decades, the idea behind corn ethanol has been that fuel derived from the crop could diminish America's dependence on distasteful foreign regimes for fuel - it's done some of this - and cut carbon emissions - it's done little of this. Congress established an overlapping and expensive system of subsidies, requiring that billions of gallons of ethanol be blended into the nation's gasoline, slapping tariffs on foreign ethanol and handing those who blend the fuel into gasoline a tax credit of 45 cents a gallon.

In other words, the government pays the industry for the privilege of selling to a captive market, spending $6 billion in 2009 on the tax credits alone.
Ethanol has less bang for the buck than fossil-fueled gasoline. This means less gas mileage. That means more gasoline is used. The farmers love it, but the starving millions hate the fact that corn prices have gone through the roof just to sate the tree huggers.

All You Need To Know About The WickiLeaks Mess...

In recent days, we have heard much complaining from the administration and assorted politicians about how the WikiLeaks disclosures pose a threat to our troops on the ground.  By this, they primarily mean our soldiers in Afghanistan, which is presently this country's main theater of military operations.
This apparent concern from of the political class is for the most part only a ploy designed to save their own skins.  Here is why.

On July 25, 2010, WikiLeaks posted on its website a vast tranche of documents concerning our military activity in Afghanistan.  Containing more than 75,000 military logs, it was the largest military leak up to that time.  WikiLeaks published these documents under the name of Afghan War Diaries.

Please notice the release date.  The documents which now supposedly present such a dire threat to our soldiers were released this past summer.  To put it another way, they were made public four and a half months ago.

Now ask yourself: Did we hear anything from the administration -- or, indeed, from our political establishment -- immediately after the release of these documents?  Did we hear anything from them on this subject in August or September?  Did we hear any complaining in the run-up to the elections in October?  Did we hear anything about it after the elections?

The answer is no.  The pols began crying foul only about ten days ago.  Why only ten days ago?  Here is a clue: On October 28, WikiLeaks began releasing the infamous State Department cables.

As it happens, those cables contained no information that would have direct bearing on the conduct of day-to-day military operations in Afghanistan or in Iraq.  But they did contain something else: They revealed information that deeply humiliated and compromised this administration.  And it was precisely at that time when said administration started to be concerned about the safety our troops.  Don't you find this coincidence a little suspicious?

It is, indeed, very suspicious for several reasons.  To begin with, the pols' sudden concern for our troops is out of character for the types who run the present administration.  After all, many of them have long records of criticism and dislike of the military.  This is not surprising, since the military is not particularly partial to their politically correct agendas, which include having openly gay men serving in its ranks.

Why -- let us ask again -- are these people showing their concern so late in the game, months after the documents were made public?

The answer is obvious.  Their concern for the troops is simply a gambit to divert attention from the information that threatens their own careers.  Knowing how much most people in this country care for our armed forces, they want us to get us angry at WikiLeaks under false pretenses.  They want us to support their efforts to silence the source that imperils their positions.

If they were sincere in their concern for the troops, the pols would have protested the moment the Afghan tranche was made public.  But they were silent then.  They were silent until their own skins were exposed.  Only then they began lamenting about the troops.  They are using the troops -- the very people about whom they couldn't care less under normal circumstances -- as a cover to save themselves.

The last four and a half months present a classic study in political hypocrisy.  The release of the Afghan diaries by WikiLeaks should have been a major blow to this administration.  Had it happened under Bush, he would have likely had to leave office.  The left and the media would have gone into a frenzy, asking how we can conduct a war if internal information about it appears on the internet.  The left wanted Bush to resign over Abu Ghraib.  It turns that under Obama, some rogue servicemen were using Afghans for target practice.  Can you imagine the pandemonium that would have ensued had such information come to light under Bush?

Because it posed such a potential threat to the administration, up until recently we heard very little about the Afghan War Diaries.  The politicians' concern for the troops was nowhere to be seen or heard.  In fact, they tried to keep the whole affair under the radar.

A few words also need to be said about the Republicans.  Even though they are now seething and indignant about the supposed dangers to our military, they were for the most part silent during all that time after the release of the Afghan cache.  They began calling for Assange's execution only when Mrs. Clinton's backside came on the line.  Is this not completely absurd?

But let us now ask whether the Afghan dump did indeed pose a direct danger to our troops.  The documents it contained covered the period from January 2004 to December 2009.  Please keep in mind that their release occurred in July of 2010.  At that time, even the most recent of the documents would have been more than six months old.  The vast majority of the papers were several years old.  Because of their being so dated, their value as a source of actionable battlefield intelligence was for all practical purposes zero.  For an enemy to be able to take tactical advantage of the other side's information, that information has to be fresh.  Anything more than few weeks old is usually not very helpful.

Despite the craze stirred up by the politicians, it would appear that the leaks have caused no direct damage to our troops or those who work with us.  In August, for example, a Pentagon spokesman stated that "we have yet to see any harm come to anyone in Afghanistan that we can directly tie to exposure in the WikiLeaks documents."  In October, the Pentagon concluded that the release "did not disclose any sensitive intelligence sources or methods" and that "there has not been a single case of Afghans needing protection or to be moved because of the leak."

This is not to say that no damage has been inflicted or that no damage will be inflicted in the future.  But it should be obvious that the claims of damage have been greatly exaggerated by the very politicians who are now frantically trying to save their jobs.

What about the damage to this country's reputation?  In the grip of the hysteria, most people have failed to notice that the Afghan dump also contained information that is favorable and vindicating.  For one thing, it shows the cruelty and ruthlessness of the enemy.  It also documents America's efforts to improve the lot of the Afghanis.

The damage from WikiLeaks' Afghan logs is far less than that caused by the Abu Ghraib scandal, whose flames the left kept fanning for months in their effort to bring down the Bush administration.  Do you believe for a minute that the same people who were so willing and eager to drag our military through the mud then are now suddenly concerned about its well-being?  Their concern for the troops is suspiciously new and glaringly out of line with their past actions and statements.  It dates only from the day their own activities came under fire.

It has been remarked by many that the liberal elitists currently in charge -- the Obamas, the Clintons, and their friends -- seem to harbor scorn for common people like us.  It is hard to say whether this is true or not, but there is one thing that can be said with certainty: they know how to pluck our patriotic string when things get too hot for them.  Many have fallen for the trick.  What should have been the day of reckoning for an arrogant and dysfunctional political class has been turned into the lynching of an Australian programmer who helped to expose its incompetence.
I tried making light of this after seeing absolutely nothing that would harm anyone but Barry and Hillary and their ilk, but waited before making any sort of definitive condemnation.
Still haven't seen anything to endanger even one Marine but admittedly I've not waded through the whole shebang.

Sure I don't like our "secrets" spilling out from pillar to post, and DO hold the Wicki asswipe accountable but at the end of the day its the Obama administration that needs one helluva workover....AND...

I am concerned this is nothing more than an attempt to persuade the public that the internet needs policing.

The first thing that comes to the mind of a liberal is to ban something he doesn't like.

Global Warming Watch: Florida Experiences Historic Cold Wave

South Floridians woke up Tuesday morning to temperatures hovering around the very low 40s that sometimes felt like the mid-30s because of the wind chill factor.
In Fort Lauderdale, a low temperature record of 42 degrees for Dec. 7 that had been in place for 169 years was broken, said Dan Gregoria, a meteorologist with the National Weather Service in Miami.

Yeah it's cold. Transplanted northerners such as yours truly find such days to be somewhat refreshing, but would never be so cruel as to admit so to the indigenae.  (ha)

The Day Still Lives In Infamy

On December 7, 1941, the cowardly Japanese launched an unprovoked military response to what was up to that point in time a series of diplomatic discussions. Allying themselves with Hitler, the cowardly Japanese thought to totally destroy the American naval presence in the Pacific, and were summarily punished most severely for their actions. I'd like to personally thank President Truman for using nuclear weapons against the Japanese, as my Father was waiting in a naval transport for deployment to invade the Japanese mainland, most likely would have perished as Marines were designated to have been the point of the spear, and then there'd be no me.

We remember the men who died during that attack, and will forever express our condolences to their families and friends.

Senator Inhofe Warns Against EPA Activity, Attacks on Capitalism in Video Message to Cancun Summit

"Without the leadership of Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), the leading skeptic on the science of man-made global warming in the U.S. Senate, anti-energy legislation may well have become a reality. He is the indispensable in the fight against “cap and trade” schemes aimed against America’s free enterprise system. Below is the full-text of his video address to the U.N. global warming/climate change summit in Cancun, Mexico:

“Hello, I’m Jim Inhofe, Republican Senator from Oklahoma and top watchdog of the Obama Administration’s global warming agenda.

“I had hoped to join you in Cancun tonight, but we had votes that I could not miss and given that EPA is busy trying to implement cap-and-trade through the backdoor, I felt it was important to keep watch in Washington. You see, the Obama Administration is trying to achieve administratively what it could not legislatively. Cap-and-trade is now as dead as a doornail, as the American people rejected it at the ballot box on November 2nd. But that hasn’t stopped the Obama EPA. So it’s our mission now to stop EPA and its job-killing agenda.

“We have come a long way since the last UN Climate meeting last year when President Obama, Hillary Clinton, Lisa Jackson, Nancy Pelosi, John Kerry and dozens of lawmakers made their way to Copenhagen to tell the world that cap-and-trade was going to pass the United States Senate. Yet the truth was it had no chance of passing. To deliver that message, I traveled to Copenhagen as a one-man truth squad. I was only on the ground for about 2 hours, perhaps the most enjoyable 2 hours of my life, but the message I delivered was clear; under no circumstances will Global Warming Cap and Trade legislation ever pass the United States Senate. The reporters and diplomats didn’t like it. They hated me for telling the truth. But here we are: I was right and they were wrong.

“The fact is, nothing is going to happen in Cancun this year and everyone knows it. I couldn’t be happier and poor Al Gore couldn’t be more upset: it has been widely reported that he is “depressed” about Cancun.

“But let me be clear: despite our success over the past year, global warming alarmists will continue to push their agenda. For example, some leaders in Cancun are stepping up their attacks on capitalism and United Nations officials are saying they need to do more to ‘spread the wealth around.’ All of this is more of the same.

“Remember it was French President Jacques Chirac, who said in 2000 that Kyoto Protocol was the ‘first component of an authentic global governance.’ And Margot Wallstrom, the European Union’s former Environment Commissioner, who said in 2001 that Kyoto is about ‘trying to create a level playing field for big businesses throughout the world.’”

If the sky-is-falling tree huggers truly wanted to send a message, each and every one of them would have arrived at Cancun via boats and donkey carts, but its never been about them surrendering their luxuries and everything about making you and me piss poor and loving it.

Algore enjoys one of the most luxurious lifestyles on the planet yet preaches conservation. Barack Obama flits from one continent to the next but thinks the little people should conserve energy. Michelle Obama brings dozens of sycophants to Spain on the US taxpayer's dime then has the stones to think she can tell you and I how to conduct our business and even how and what to eat.

Thank you Senator Inhofe. Thank you for exposing these charlatans for what they are and thank you for keeping an eye on them for us.

And as for the Obama's, I for one want a Congressional investigation into their lavish lifestyles and a full accounting of from whence the monies came, and from whom.
And if it is discovered that the American taxpayer has been paying for all this royal treatment, then the new Congress should immediately send Barack and Shelly a bill, including interest, for the charges, while at the same time deducting money from the president's salary for being away from work without a good enough excuse.

Simply The Dumbest Thing EVER Said On Cutlery Corner...

Ya know, I shouldn't watch Cutlery Corner. No one should. But to not watch means to miss the following:

"...This here's the Princess Rani; a modified Buck 110 with mastodon ivory handles. The mastodon ivory has gone through all the proper channels, and its old mastodon ivory. The knife was made before the ban on ivory*, so its a pre-ban mastodon ivory knife..."

Yes. Todd Boone, with Mr. James A. Frost's approval, announces to the entire world how incredibly stupid he is. But this is the way with grifters. They lie so often they pay little attention to what they're actually saying so they don't realize, for instance, that there IS NO BAN on mastodon ivory.

Mastodon's are not on the endangered species list. Mastodons have been extinct for at least 15,000 years (Nope. My bad. Recently found remains indicate 11,000 years). But the Frost folks got their hands on some ivory handled knives and not having a clue as to what a mastodon is, heard the word "ivory", then made up a lie about how the knife was made before the ban on...you got it...mastodon ivory.

I think what Todd was really trying to say was that the knife was made by a traveling Neanderthal 15 to 20,000 years ago, BEFORE the mastodons went and got themselves all extinct. But don't go blaming Frost Cutlery because they had NO hand in extincting them mastodons. Woolly Mammoths, yes. New archaeological evidence has been unearthed linking Frost Cutlery folding hunters to badly butchered mammoth remains, suggesting that not only did paleolithic tribesmen kill mammoths they employed piece of shit knives to do so. Their bad.

Pictured: American Mastodon. The elephant looking thing, not Todd. And the caption is incorrect; mastodons resembled woolly mammoths, as not all mammoths had such coats of hair. Which brings us to question if the handle material was mastodon or mammoth. There are over 150 million mammoth remains in Siberia alone, making the ivory less and less expensive as more and more are unearthed. But, since the information is coming from the illiteratae at Frost, who really knows. Please click for a full sized picture.

*The "ban" began in 1990, as nearly half the African states exporting ivory joined together to prohibit its sale and availablity. In most of Africa one can obtain all the ivory one wants, but it was the black market in it that was so severely thinning the elephant herds, and once that was curtailed it simply wasn't financially feasible to acquire and export the estimated 400,000 tons per year that had long been flooding the marketplaces. Most of the Asian countries that had relied upon ivory for medicinal and religious practices still import ivory on a regular basis but nowhere near the quantity they consumed pre-ban.

Continuing With All Knives All The Time Weekend...

Tonight on Frost Cutlery's Cult-Leery Corner, I once again noticed a new trend. The old Hen & Rooster brand went defunct as a manufacturer years back, with James A. Frost purchasing the rights to the name. Because the original knives were manufactured in Germany, Frost hit upon the perfect scam; continue to hint that the product was STILL made in Germany, and it was Hen & Rooster this, Hen Rooster that.

No longer. Now it's H&R. Forget that the H&R name and line and history has long been taken by the old Harrington & Richardson gun folks, apparently now was the time to strike while the grifting was hot.

The Frosted Flakes also continued with their assertion that Abalone was soon to be placed upon the endangered species list so's ya'll better be buying them up right quick. Few months back it was assisted-opening knives that were on their way to being outlawed, but nary a peep about it lately. Probably because enough geeks bought out every last assisted knaahf Frost could get his hands on so there simply wasn't any reason to continue prevaricating. And let's not forget that every last assisted opener Frost featured was advertised using someone else's registered trademark. Getting the Chicoms to build you some potsteel is infinitely easier than actually coming up with a name, because then you'd need some talent.

For the record, Frost Cutlery does not manufacture knives. Buyers meet and greet with companies in China and India and Pakistan, have a look at what can be done and for how much, and place an order just like you and I could if we were looking to open our very own knife company. No forges, no computer-driven designs, no famous blademasters, no nothing.

A phone and a warehouse. A cheap cable outlet for your continuing infomercials, a barker or two and you're good to go.

Which, God bless 'em all, is fine. As long as you're honest and open about it, why not. But inveterate liars are devoid of honor and live to screw the screwable.

Don't be screwed. Buy all them cheap knives ya'll want. Just be aware from whom you are buying them from. That much, at least, you owe to all of the hard working, honorable knife manufacturers.

Sharp Is As Sharp Does

Open invitation to Frost Cutlery: Using any of your sharpening tools, devices, or contraptions, Blademasters and Mistresses, even chamber pot servitors... create a knaahf as sharp as this.

Quote of the week...

Courage is going to the edge of the precipice, jumping, then building your wings on the way down.

Paraphrased from Ray Bradbury.

Friday Nights Cutlery Corner: Abalone...Endangered Species And Soon To Be Banned Just Like Ivory

"Abalone kin (can) only be found in two places on earth and they are getting rarer and rarer to find, so git your abalone handled knaahf (knife) before they become too illegal to git (get) anymore."

Todd Boone

"Alls I know is that the prace (price) is going up every week and I do agree that its only a matter of tahm (time) before there is no more abaloney* left to make knaaaahf (knife) handles. First there was ivory and now abalone."

Mr. James A. Frost

The haliotid (abalone) family has a worldwide distribution, along the coastal waters of every continent, except the Atlantic coast of South America, the Caribbean, and the East Coast of the United States.

The majority of abalone species are found in cold waters, off the Southern Hemisphere coasts of New Zealand, South Africa and Australia, and Western North America and Japan in the Northern Hemisphere.

Wikipedia
I am forwarding the above Wikipedia information to Frost Cutlery, so that Mr. James A. Frost may pass it along to his Chinese, Pakistani, and East Indian knife manufacturers, who, it would seem, are of the opinion that abalone shell is rare, getting rarer, and soon to be banned.

Nothing could be farther from the truth, so I'm 100% certain that Mr. Frost will be pleased as punch to learn the truth, and may then direct Todd Boone to stop telling viewers of Cutlery Corner that they'd better get some quick before they're all gone.

*Abalone is indeed correctly pronounced abaloney. Something Mr. Boone never does, but then again Mr. Boone rarely pronounces anything correctly, so it was good to hear Mr. Frost teaching him a much needed English lesson.

Friday Cartoon

Remember back when King Barry The Bower was telling anyone who'd listen that since HE WON, everything HAD to go his way?

Liberals are like that. Compromise is something only the little people do. On face value he was of course correct; what's the point of a two-party system if everyone just jumps to the middle and forgets why their constituents gave them the job in the first place.

But that's King Barry. In error even when he's correct. Nothing wrong with compromise as long as it involves crossing the t's, and dotting the i's. Plenty wrong when someone is sent to do a job then reneges just to be voted Miss Congeniality like a certain Senator from Arizona.

But through it all and at the end of the day it is simply bad form to say the things he says. It's what happens when a man reaches so high an office without an impartial media to keep him honest.Having absolutely NO core value system to fall back upon, Barry only knows what his sycophants tell him and what the fawning media tosses at his feet like rose petals.

Seriously now; as a prime example, the marriage to Lady Shelly HAD to have been arranged. Who marries such an unintelligent racist cow? Someone not knowing any better.

Man Jailed In Jersey For Guns He Legally Bought In Colorado

"Aitken had passed an FBI background check to buy them in Colorado when he lived there, his father said, and had contacted New Jersey State Police and discussed the proper way to transport them.

"He bought them at Bass Pro Shops, for God's sake, not some guy named Tony on the street corner," his father said.

New Jersey and Colorado are on opposite ends of the gun-control spectrum. In Colorado, all he needed was the background check to own the guns.

In the Garden State, Aitken was required to have a purchaser's permit from New Jersey to own the guns and a carry permit to have them in his car.
He also was charged with having "large capacity" magazines and hollow-point bullets, which one state gun-control advocate found troubling.

"What little I can glean about the transportation issue leaves me puzzled, but a person with common sense would not be moving illegal products from one place to another by car," said Bryan Miller, executive director of CeaseFire NJ, an organization devoted to reducing gun violence.

"If Mr. Aitken did the research he said he did, he would not have hollow-point bullets and large-capacity magazines in the vehicle," Miller said. "They are illegal, period."

Years back I owned houses along the Jersey shore. Easy enough access to NYC where friends and family were, but rural enough so I could grow my beloved tomatoes. Then NJ went haywire, with the gun grabbers hiding behind every bush so off I went, lock, stock, and smoking barrels.

This case is a troubling one. No real Conservative would agree with jailing someone who legally purchased firearms and munitions, but its the law that gets in the way. If you break the law you are a criminal. Yes, lots of folks are just that, trying to exercise simple human rights but prevented from doing so because of race, color, creed, national origin, or being silly enough to wish to bear arms. So there are only three decisions to be made in states like New Jersey; remain, break the law and hope you don't get caught, remain and try to change the liberal climate while obeying the law, or leave.

In my lifetime, New Jersey will not become a 2nd Amendment friendly state. Look, they brag about Governor Christie and he's a gun grabbing dictator who simply happens to have learned something about finance, so when the unions get their way and back a different liberal to replace him nothing will have changed with regards to gun ownership.  There are times we've got to stop charging at windmills and face the truth. Some states attract a certain sort of American and if you happen to not be that sort of American it might behoove you to go where likeminded people live.

I'm not talking about surrender. Lefties flock to LA, D.C., NYC and New Jersey for a reason; those places are governed by and overwhelming occupied by other lefties. Leaving the Midwest because you can no longer shovel snow is not surrendering to the gods of nature but simply wishing to find a more comfortable environment.

Mr. Aitken chose to remain in New Jersey and hope he didn't get caught. I refuse to believe he was unaware of the law, hell, everyone in Jersey for any length of time is, but I respect his decision because he was exercising basic unalienable rights. We as adults continuously make decisions that effect our well being. Mr. Aitkens, as a man in his maturity, and of sound mind, made his. To argue against his decision is to do what liberals do all the time, namely telling other people how to think and act and feel and behave.

I despise The Garden State and wouldn't live there for all the tea in China. As an American I understand that other Americans have different values and decide to band together and dismiss others who are not on the same wavelength. They are called liberals and they've every right to be liberal and I've every right to hate their guts but their laws aren't any less important than mine. Well, sure they are because they're unconstitutional but that isn't going to prevent them from sending armed men to take you to prison or kill you if you disagree.

Oh and by the way; Mr. Aitkens dad seems to think that referring to " some guy named Tony" is good to go. Lotsa legit gun dealers named Tony.  Guess the senior Aitkens is just a douchebag and a half.

Nigel Farage: "Just Who the Hell Do You Think You People Are?"

In the following featured speech from European Parliament member Nigel Farage (h/t Redstate), he outlines the impending collapse of the EU experiment and the dangers to democracy and sovereignty the Union now poses to member states:

Pretty much the same query we sent to King George III*. Please click the headline link for more.

*King George of England: For visiting Fudds, please follow this link to learn about George. Using the internet you'll find lots and lots more, but it's better off to start with the simple stuff. Otherwise, you'll leave stupid comments or send me idiotic emails complaining about something you know absolutely nothing about. Thank you for your attention in this matter.

Oh, and if you're unsure of being a Fudd then take the following brain teaser:

If you don't know if you're a Fudd then you're a Fudd.

Ugliest Guns?

"Harrington & Richardson has been out of the handgun business since the company (then doing business as H&R 1871, Inc.) was acquired by Marlin in 2000. Most people probably didn’t even notice.

H&R handguns weren’t ever anything you’d brag about owning, unless maybe it was one of their USRA single-shot .22 target pistols or maybe a nine-shot top-break Model 999 Sportsman. I’ve owned one of the former and two of the latter, and I never felt ashamed of them. I must admit, however, that most of H&R’s pistols and revolvers look positively clunky and stupid compared to, say, a Colt Police Positive or a S&W M39.

But for pure butt-ugliness, nothing could approach H&R’s .32 Self-Loading Pistol and its Model 925 .38 S&W revolver. Hoo boy! The .32 Self-Loader was a licensed knockoff of the British Webley7.65mm Pocket Auto (and was also available in a scaled-down .25 ACP version), but the Model 925 sprang unassisted from H&R’s fevered corporate brow. Neither was a cheaply-made gun; it’s just that their styling was so impossibly awkward that they look weird even to my jaded eyes, which is saying quite a lot."

The weirdest thing to my jaded eyes is a modern S&W revolver with a Hillary-Hole. Not only does it speak to the Clinton administrations attempt to eradicate the 2nd Amendment, but the bloody things have malfunctioned enough to render them useless; unless one is of a mind to define useful as a firearm being incapable of firing.

And talk about ugly, H&R certainly doesn't have the patent on appalling, as is evidenced by the Smith Bodyguard.

Colt of course cannot be mentioned due to the company's refusal to design modern weapon systems for other than law enforcement or military purposes. Why? Because they hate you.

Cutlery Corner...The Mid-Week Grift

Yes, it's that time of the week and sadly, that time of the year. When the grifters over at Cult-leery-Corner get to try and lure even more of the sick, lame, and lazy into purchasing cheap Chinaman crafted, pot-steel knives.

But it's getting too hard to keep up with how lame these Frosted Flakes really are. Phony steels and phony handles, made in phony factories by phone "craftsmen". When nary a thing the hawkers say is true, well, where does one even begin to continue exposing them for the thieves they are?

Since they lie, we're left to extrapolate. Now, just about anything offered on Cult-leery-Corner can be had cheaper from any number of online knife stores. Cheaper shipping, too. Lots cheaper. So it seems to me that the products they try to pawn off on an unsuspecting public are what the Frost dealers return as unsellable.

So then, why would anyone in their right mind order something from the Frost infomercials when it can be had cheaper elsewhere?

The pitch. Todd Boone and Sheila Travis, and poor old Tom O'Dell do their very best to pitch the un-pitchable. Something that languishes in a dealers inventory gets sold when the Frosted Flakes do their little dance of love for dear Mr. James A. Frost.

Another sad thing about the Frost grift, is the fact that up to a certain point the Chinese can actually make a halfway decent knife using decent enough steels. 440C is available in China, and Pakistan, even India, and its certainly good enough for the designs Frost pitches but why use a good steel when you can use an inferior one and pocket a helluva lot more profit.

Well, lemme go back to watching Todd lie his ass off.

Scientists Find 200 Sextillion More Stars in the Sky

A study suggests the universe could have triple the number of stars scientists previously calculated. For those of you counting at home, the new estimate is 300,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. That's 300 sextillion.

The study questions a key assumption that astronomers often use: that most galaxies have the same properties as our Milky Way. And that's creating a bit of a stink among astronomers who want a more orderly cosmos.

It's one of two studies being published online Wednesday in the journal Nature that focus on red dwarf stars, the most common stars in the universe. The study that offers the new estimate on stars is led by a Yale University astronomer. He calculates that there are far more red dwarfs than previously thought, and that inflates the total star count."

That's one helluva lot MORE stars. Many, many planets. Some of whom have had a 6 billion year head start on us.

So where are they?

Traveling at 90% light speed, a space ship could circumnavigate the known universe in so long a time.

Twice. Stopping by each habitable or near habitable planet.

Know what that means?

Means we're alone. Just like I like it. More civilizations, more of a chance I'd have to share my pistachio's.

"Police Dog" Killed By Robbery Suspect

BLACKWOOD, NJ (CBS/AP) — A police “K-9″ dog was killed Tuesday evening after being thrown into traffic by a robbery suspect he had chased down.
Skyler Robinson, 20, was taken into custody after an overnight hunt, and a second suspect, 19-year-old Evan Scotese, was taken into custody at his home Wednesday morning
.
Police say the dog, a 3½-year-old German Shepherd, was on duty for Gloucester Township police when they responded to a burglary call at a Chinese restaurant on East Church Street in Blackwood.
The suspects made off with approximately $300 and one of them punched an employee before fleeing.
After picking up the scent of Robinson, the dog, named “Shultz,” was let loose and chased him down along the shoulder of Route 42.

But as Shultz tried to take down Robinson, he somehow got hold of him and threw him into traffic on the highway. The dog was killed instantly.

Officer Shultz gave his life for Officer Pickard and all of the men and women of the Gloucester Township Police Department and we’re very thankful for his service,” Chief Harry Earle said.

Robinson and Scotese are both facing numerous charges, including robbery and resisting arrest by flight. In addition, Robinson is also facing charges of inflicting harm on a law enforcement animal and cruelty to animals.
Police say they are very close to K-9 units — they say they treat the dogs like they treat other officers. And the men lined up early Wednesday morning outside the Chews Landing Veterinary Hospital, saluting as the body of the dog was brought out in a hearse.

A service to honor Shultz the dog is planned for next Thursday."

I am a dog lover. German Shepard's used by police departments to attack, and if need be, kill a human being, are no longer mere dogs, but severely disturbed animals.

There are numerous instances of these creatures injuring the innocent and even their handlers, and for as much as I do love dogs, were one to latch on to me I'd kill it. Just like any other wild animal. Last time I checked, police dogs were not mentioned in my copy of the Constitution, and regardless of what these lowlife servants of ours referred to as law enforcement believe, do not have the right to attack and maim a person.

One of the major problems we have with the modern constabulary is their believe that they are our superiors. Permitting these cretins to presume that certain animals are as well, simply must be nipped in the bud as we on a daily basis strive to resume our rightful place as the ones in charge of the whole shebang.

Look at it this way; Michael Vick allowed his property to be used to train dogs to fight one another, and served 18 months in prison. All across the country, police departments conduct training that teaches dogs to fight people.

What's next? Attack chimps? They're smarter. Than most cops even. No wait. Then there'd be too much competition for promotions. The poor dogs they can abuse at will, and don't know from squat about recompense, where a chimp wouldn't stand for such treatment.

Then again this IS Jersey. Where the Governor kisses law enforcements collective ass and feels its A-okay to disarm the populace just in case they might spook some poor cop who was under the impression only he was allowed to defend himself. (Sorry. Any time I get an opening to spit on Christie I will)

PS: And always remember that should an officer feel threatened he can kill every last one of your pets without so much as a by-your-leave. Happens all the time in all the states. But when their pets are in danger they codify make believe laws to promote the animal to sworn officer of the law.

And worse yet, we let them get away with it.

UPDATE

Wanna know how the dog got that name? Schultz?

Seems the yokels had a contest to name him, and a local 5th grader voted for Schultz, in honor of perhaps the dirtiest hockey player of all time, David Schultz who played for the Philadelphia Flyers.

Schultz was known for, among other things, wrapping his hands as a boxer would so when he pummeled an opponent he wouldn't endanger his digits. Multiple face fractures and concussions later, the practice was banned by the NHL and remains so to this day.

Could thing the dog wasn't more aggressive. They might have named him "Manson".

California Man Kills 500-Pound Bruin Found Snoozing In His Dining Room

Don't Worry, Comedy Lovers...Roseanne Barr Is Just Fine

TAHOE CITY — Wildlife officials confirmed this week that a Lake Tahoe man was legally acting in self defense when he used a shotgun to kill a 500-pound bear after the bruin allegedly attacked him 10 days ago inside his Lake Forest restaurant.

On the morning of Friday, Nov. 20, at 8 a.m., William Hunter, co-owner of Bacchi's Inn Restaurant, encountered the large bruin sleeping on the floor of the dining room.

H.H. Hunter, William's wife and restaurant co-owner, said the bear had repeatedly broken into the restaurant, causing more than $800 damage in broken windows over the course of the previous week.

H.H. Hunter said it was lucky her husband had a loaded shotgun he kept at the store due to the recent break-ins. When her husband shouted at the bear to ward him off the premises, the bear allegedly became aggressive and charged William, who was forced to discharge his weapon, killing the bruin.

“He so hated to kill the bear,” said H.H. Hunter. “It was a case of either him or the bear.”

Jason Holley, wildlife biologist supervisor for the North Central Region for the California Department of Fish and Game, confirmed the Hunters were well within their legal rights when shooting the bear.

“The business owner was defending himself,” said Holley. “I'm sure seeing an angry 500-pound wild animal was an intimidating sight.”

Holley said the Hunters had been in discussions with the agency prior to the final break-in and were seeking help with mitigation measures, such as installing electric bear wires around the windows and doors of the property.

Holley said the investigating officer reported nothing improper about the restaurant's trash storage. H.H. said the restaurant has been in her family for 78 years."

While I don't particularly like having some "wildlife official"  making the decision on how okay it is to defend oneself from a dangerous animal, all's well that end's well when it comes to anything out of California. Then again I'm probably more vexed at the tone of the article than anything else.

"Wildlife officials confirmed this week that a Lake Tahoe man was legally acting in self defense..." is just another instance of the Yellowstream media's cluelessness, and they get away with such tripe, in part, because the Fudd's eat it up. Oh golly gee yah, didja hear that that fella who shot that there bear was cleared of all charges? Whew, lucky fer him, eh?
