"...The film, supposedly, is meant to criticize Bush's efforts in the War on Terror.
Some criticism.
Apparently, the filmmaker's arguments were just too weak (or their skills too limited) to advance their point in a more civil way.
Or maybe their demented hatred of the president simply consumed them; no doubt, for many sicko Bush-haters, "Death of a President" is a fantasy film.
But it's over the top.
Sure, we know the entertainment industry doesn't like to be told what to do; neither do we.
But this isn't about issuing restraining orders. Not at all.
The potential consequences are grave: In just the past two generations, assassins targeted three U.S. presidents - one successfully, and a second very nearly so.
Grave enough that filmmakers on their own might recognize their moral obligation not to encourage the crazies. Barring that, U.S. theaters - exercising their own rights - ought simply to decline to show the film.
And Americans ought to boycott those that do."
Am eagerly awaiting word from Teddy Kennedy as he condemns this filth. You know, the drunken woman-killer that lost TWO brothers to the assassins bullet.
Should I hold my breath?
