Officer Dinkheller was wearing body armor. The man who was shooting at him soon realized this, fired repeatedly into the officer's arms and legs until he was too wounded to move, then finished him off. This is a relatively famous, or infamous as the case might be, video taken from the patrol vehicle. While Officer Dinkheller did many things wrong that day, his worst was emptying the pistol and not once hitting his target. Dinkheller carried a Glock 23. His assailant an M1 Carbine.
