Deciphering The Various Winchester Ranger Rounds

Since Winchester is packaging its various Ranger ammunition in lookalike boxes, I sent an email to them and asked which one was the real deal. Be sure to check the item numbers on ANY ammo you buy at your favorite gunshop, or Wally World, or online at any of the various, and sometimes unscrupulous supply houses. Some HAVE been selling the "civilian" version at Ranger-T prices.

"Would you be so kind to tell me the difference between RA40180HP and RA40T. The boxes appear identical save for the product numbers.

Best regards,

Fits

Dear Fits:

The difference is in the design of the bullet. The RA30180HP has a conventional hollowpoint design. The RA40T has the SXT (Formerly Black Talon) design and is much more effective.
