February 13, 2008 -- "Hillary Rodham Clinton was trounced last night because she couldn't even hang on to her most reliable supporters - women, blue-collar workers and the elderly, according to exit surveys in Virginia and Maryland last night.
In Virginia, Barack Obama also beat Clinton among white voters, a group she had won in prior contests. But he came in 10 points behind her among whites in Maryland.
He also edged her out on a key question in both states: which one is most qualified to be commander-in-chief.
Most shocking were Obama's numbers among what were Clinton's core boosters in past primaries and caucuses - women.
He took nearly 60 percent to her roughly 40 percent in both states, according to exit data conducted for The Associated Press and a media consortium.
Obama also routed Clinton among those earning less than $50,000 - although Clinton had been cleaning up with blue-collar voters before last night.
Obama also edged her out among senior citizens, a huge surprise, given the dedication to Clinton that the elderly demographic has shown her.
The sample of Hispanic voters in Virginia was small - just 5 percent of the overall vote - but even there, Obama edged her out, 54 percent to 46 percent.
In Maryland, Clinton led among an equally small sample, 55 percent to 45 percent.
Still, if those numbers are accurate, they don't bode well for Clinton in the March 4 primary in Texas, which has a huge Hispanic population.
Obama took an overwhelming number of male voters in both states and dominated in almost every age category.
Clinton took more than 90 percent of support from those who listed experience as the most important quality for a candidate, but that was fewer than a third of voters.
But her main advantage was among white women, and even there she only bested Obama by between 10 and 15 points in both states.
Obama performed strongest among his natural base, scoring between 80 to 90 percent of the black vote.
Obama also fared well among those who ranked the economy and the Iraq war as their most important issues.
But he also beat her among those who value her signature issue: health care."
Blah, blah, blah.
Exit polls. Who remembers the day when a vote was supposed to be super dee duper secret and if and when someone asked who you voted for and why you told them the exact opposite. Being behind a closed door or curtain is far different than having someone up and in your face so exit polling is far from an exact science.
Besides. Rod'Em still has the popular vote along with those two bastions of lost liberty, Kalifornia and New Yawk, which means the SUPER DELEGATES will avow for her come convention time even if it means calling in the Marines to restore order.
Should worse come to worse, Hillbilly Rob'Em accepts the VP slot and within a years time some "madman" with a gun assassinates Obo. Blowjob Bill and his ugly wife Hill are felons. Be surprised by nothing that goes down should McCain stroke out and yet another socialist democrat gets the key to the executive rest room.
