Super Blackhawk in .45 Colt. A stalwart load will bag just about anything living in North America, and this particular iteration is quite popular in states that prohibit rifles for hunting purposes.

In the right hands, a 325 grain lead flatnose with 1350 fps of giddyup will do just fine.

I've got my old S&W Model 29 loaded to the gills and it'll put more of a charge into a round than a .45 will, but nothing beats my Redhawk for boosting the 44 magnum load to it's full potential. The 29 is more accurate, even though it's a 4"'er compared to the Rugers 5.5", but the Buffalo Bore loads bring the Redhawk into .454 Casull territory and that'll do until I get my hands on a .500 or .460.

And then I'll probably break a wrist or two but what the hell. We live once.
