We Get Letters...

"...our city has had a serious up swing in the amount of police shootings lately with 12 bad guys being shot and killed by police thus far this year. Thats compared to 7 ALL of last year! We had 4 just this week alone. Two on Wendsday night/Thursday morning, on over the weekend. All the bad guys were killed, one with a single shot to the chest. The public is up in armes already!"

I've reproduced the above "as-is" from a law enforcement officer in Philadelphia. The department he works for uses a particular type of ammunition that is of the older variety, and for 2 reasons:

It's cheaper.
It doesn't come with a super-dee-duper-tactical name that would drive the liberals insane.

He and his fellows have been lucky in that the spate of recent shootings have resulted in no injuries to the police, but of course when dealing with Loons, theres a downside to what otherwise would be good news.

They've been "too effective" in killing bad guys. The bad guys, you see, have been minority members, and Philadelphia has its share of contemptable politicians who are beginning to question why less than lethal force cannot be used; in other words, "why can't you just shoot to wound them?"

The truth of the matter is that these cops have been lucky. They're using less than state-of-the-art ammunition, and fearful of stepping up in quality because it'd be deemed cruel and unusual to be more effective in killing thugs before they kill them.

For that reason alone, all liberal politicians should have a special place in hell reserved just for them.
