What The UN Thinks Of Self-Defense...

"Self-defence is a widely recognized, yet legally proscribed, exception to the universal duty to respect the right to life of others. Self-defence is a basis for exemption from criminal responsibility that can be raised by any State agent or non-State actor. Self-defence is sometimes designated as a “right”. There is inadequate legal support for such an interpretation. Self-defence is more properly characterized as a means of protecting the right to life and, as such, a basis for avoiding responsibility for violating the rights of another."*

Wading through such legal gobbydeegook provides one with but one translation of the above. The UN does not believe that self-defense is a right. Stating such makes it easier to then profess a desire to rid the world of guns that are not in law enforcement or military hands, because, after all, since the individual is without the right of self-defense there is no need for privately owned firearms.

Elect Hillary Rodham to the Presidency and it's only a matter of time before the United States joins the "world community" in banning rifles and handguns. Elect democrats to Congress, and it's the Assault Weapon Ban all over again.

I'm not one who believes that conservative Republicans will lose the House and Senate, but it's going to be close, too close for comfort come this November. As a fallback, I'd recommend buying those evil-looking rifles now, before the Pelosi's and Kennedy's have enough votes to make them illegal.
