41 Magnum Blackhawk
Using 265 grain lead flat nose bullets charged to 1370 fps from its 6.5" barrel, Blackhawks were, and remain a good camp gun. I say were because I've had mine for going on 34 years and it is stouter than the newer offerings, but of course can generate nowhere near the 1480 fps 330 grainer making monkey business from a 44 magnum Redhawk or Super Blackhawk.
After all these years of learning to draw and cock it in one smooth stroke, the Blackhawk is guaranteed to deliver bad intentions to anything black bear size and under, but no, it cannot be fanned. What it does do is point like an extension of my hand and make one ragged hole in anything under 25 yards.
Would I CCW a single action? With the right holster in the right climate, sure. And 34 years of practice.
