Zarqawi still alive when Iraqi police arrived

Breaking news: A mortally wounded Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, still alive after a U.S. airstrike on his hideout, mumbled briefly and attempted to "turn away off the stretcher" he had been placed on by Iraqi police, the U.S. military said Friday.

Ah gee but I hope they videotaped that and it makes it's way to the web. Doesn't surprise me considering the ordnance that was used (survivability is a reasonable assumption) and the fact that our Special Forces fella's were pretty much right around the block calling the thing in to the F-16's.

I'm of two minds on this one; would have been cool to see him stand trial, but the Loons would have had a field day begging for his life, Guess it's best he expired like a rat in a trap, cringing and trying to flee once he saw the first sign of a US uniform. Couldn't have been the happiest moment for a sweet fella like that.

Insert evil laughter here.
