A Rookie To Watch
Here's a heads-up to keep an eye on Brad Smith of the NY Jets. Selected in the 4th round, Smith is as all-purpose a runner/thrower as can be found, and the only question is whether or not the bigger, faster NFL will be too much for him. At 6' 2" (generously) he isn't tall enough to see downfield, but scrambling QB's can wreck a defensive charge long enough to get a better view of the entire field. Putting him in the backfield as a running back causes the defense to at least think trick-play, and since good old fashioned fun is sorely lacking from the modern NFL the more such players are featured the better.
