Daily News Exclusive: New York City has always been a welcoming haven for the world's immigrants - and most of us want it to stay that way. A Daily News poll found that two-thirds of city residents believe immigrants make Gotham a better place to live, compared with just 15% who say they make it worse.FULL STORY

Only 12% of city residents favor deportation of the city's illegal residents - a vast population now estimated to number some 500,000, or roughly as many people as live in the entire city of Boston.
There is also little agreement over whether the United States should build a wall along the Mexican-American border, an idea favored by 40% and opposed by 47%, with the rest undecided.
"I think that's ridiculous," said Manhattanite Christine Kapp, 61, of the wall idea that's favored by some in Congress. "That goes back to castles with moats and things."
