We Get Letters

"We have been using 30 P90's for five years now. There have been three BG's shot with them. We will not be buying more. One guy was shot 6 times, lived.

Another guy was shot 10-12 times before he told the officers "stop shooting me" and gave up. He lived as well.
"

UPDATE

More real-world P90

Too many folks get wrapped up in the handgun versus carbine velocity shenanigans and confuse the two. The 5.7 seems to be a viable killing round from longer barrels, using ammunition restricted to LE/Military.

But...

The 5.7 in pistol platform:

28-grain SS195 2150 fps/4.8 inch barrel/288 ft lbs
40-grain SS196 1650 fps/4.8 inch barrel/242 ft lbs
40-grain SS197 2000 fps/4.8 inch barrel/356 ft lbs

Kinetic energy means next to nothing to me, and I include the above for reference value only. Also, calibrated ballistic gelatin testing should be viewed in the same light. Apples to apples, with the understanding that a controlled laboratory experiment featuring a simulacrum of a simulacrum tells one nothing about anything besides the propensity for a particular round to expand under those precise conditions. Men are made of more than muscle and blood. Even Tennessee Ernie knew there's skin and bone.
