At 15 feet, your defensive handgun should be punching no bigger than 2 inch groups in the middle of the target. If the gun and ammunition are up to spec, the off-centered impacts can be corrected by understanding the problem and adjusting.

Realistically, since the target area is approximately 2 and a half by 2 and a half inches, you should be able to empty a magazine into the circle at distances up to 20 feet.

If this isn't happening, the gun, the ammo, or yourself, severely suck.
