World War Flee

A nation goes to war to protect its vital interests, way of life, and to force its political will upon another.

We were not forced to enter WW's I and II. We could have surrendered-at-all-costs the moment the going got tough. During WWII, the Japanese kicked butt from island to island, destroyed our largest naval base, wrenched the Philippines away from our control, and killed many Americans while incurring little damage to themselves. Even D-Day was one of the most botched military operations in history, with thousands of Americans killed when they were dropped off at the wrong place and time, turning them into canon fodder for the German guns.

Just imagine what todays Yellowstream Media would have said. What todays liberal politicians would be shouting from the rooftops.

But back then we had a Secretary of War, and went to war with but one immediate goal.

To win.

Not to charm the populations, not to court their hearts and minds, just to win. Hearts, minds, and other dilly dallies could come later. There was no illusion that a war could be won without busting things up. Without making a great many difficult decisions to destroy all that was in our path to victory.

Oppose our line of march and entire cities would be turned to ash.

Well we don't have a Secretary of War anymore. We don't enter a fight to win it as much as to assure as little collateral damage as possible and that means closeting all those wonderful weapons that break things really good. Now the American fighting man must be policeman, politician, and meter maid rolled into one.

When mocking the current gutlessness that resulted in the Dianification of Great Britain, lets not forget that we led the way, beginning from the very moment the decision was made to fight the Korean War with one hand tied behind our backs and ask the American infantryman to revert back to the dark ages and slog it out in the mud while the weapons that could have won the day were kept from the engagement.

We were attacked. All who aid and abet our enemy becomes our enemy. At the end of the day, we'll sooner or later be faced with the brutal fact that we must crush our foes the good old fashioned way or listen to the democrats and surrender.

The two mightiest military nations on earth were defeated after attacking us. Today we become faint of heart when a 7th Century barbarian sends nasty messages from a cave.
