Patrick will appreciate this. Waiting for eggs to hatch can be frustrating, especially in the case of this little fellow. Incubating an egg for close to 8 years can take it's toll, but even when one out of a clutch of 5 makes it, the feeling is wonderful.
Not that I'd ever attempt it again. Once is more than enough thank you very much and now I can sleep without saying a prayer for the power to remain on, or the generator to kick in if it doesn't. One of the reasons we moved to Florida was the harsh Midwest winters, and the tornado that could pop up out of nowhere and ruin everything.
Now for a name.
