The Lone Star Conundrum

In taking a ton of heat in prodding Texans, one thing is for certain. Not all of Texas is happy with the sad state of affairs regarding it's gun rights, but from the beginning I never insinuated that this was the case.

No, even after receiving word after word of Texans being harassed by law enforcement, the no-comment Castle Doctrine, the absolutely hilarious 30.06 NO-GUN signs, the fact that Texans cannot carry inside a church or amusement park, or hospital, or that anyone even remotely connected to law enforcement pays less than a quarter of the usual fee for a CCW license, the fact that at any time a departmental director can ban a Texan from carrying on public lands, etc, etc, I knew full well that there remained a great many Lone Star Staters who found the present environment to be unsatisfactory with regards to the limitations placed upon, of all things, a Constitutional Amendment. As usual it was the soccer-moms who drove me to distraction, the "I own a gun and I'm from Texas so don't mess wiff me" distaff heat-toters who believe everything they've ever seen in a Clint Eastwood movie and were clueless to the fact that the anti's were making serious headway.

Fact of the matter is, we need Texas back, and badly. The emboldened anti's...thank you middle of the roaders, for voting in the socialists... are making noisees that this would be a good time to return to assault weapon bans and hi-capacity magazine bans, and while they're at it why not an all guns everywhere ban. During the Clinton years many states saw the erosion of gun rights, and while 6 years of a Republican Congress was somewhat of a dam against the rising tide, it's back to square one.

For all of us. Even Texas. The biggest riddle among the 50.
