Tried out some new (to me) 00 buckshot. Winchester Supreme (Product # SB12300)12 pellet @ 1450 fps. Not a typo, yes, thats 1450 feet per second.
28" barrel Mossberg 500 and the kick was significant. Should be since we're talking over 3100 foot-pounds of energy. More so but of course when switching out tubes to an 18 incher. With Knoxx adjustable recoil absorbing stocks a pussycat. They'll set you back anywhere from $100 to $130 but the recoil dampening is amazing.
Another plus was the patterning on the Win Supreme. Cylinder Bore returned approximately 5" cluster at 40', and Improved Cylinder a little over 4".
It was surprise-me day from Winchester as we also ran some WWB (Winchester White Box) .357 SIG ammo from a 4.5" barrel, and at 25 yards with a stable rest the largest grouping was around 3 and a half inches. Not bad for plinking and I am beginning to believe the rumors that the .357 SIG is an inherently accurate round.
