Concerns Mount Over Neighborhood Gun Dealers

When you think of a federally licensed gun dealer, you probably think of a well-established business on a busy commercial street. But what if that business was operating out of a home right next door to you?

The Channel 8 I-Team has learned of several local, fully licensed gun dealers that operate in the middle of quiet residential areas.

Busses pass by all afternoon -- some stop and drop off students. Those students then walk right by this ranch-style home. But what's inside?

It's the legally licensed address of a gun dealership called Ray Lynn's Custom Guns. There's even an ad in the yellow pages.

Jennifer Morgan is the estranged step-daughter of the business owner, Ray Lynn. She estimates that there are 80 to 90 guns inside the house.

So why is she talking? "It should not stay in the family when it is endangering many other families," she said.

Morgan first contacted the I-Team after a bus stop shooting. She wanted to know how a home-based gun business could legally operate so close to children."

So then, these same children never walk past a police station, or squad car, or officer carrying a gun?

Only civilians owning guns is what bothers these soccer-mom rejects from humanity?

Can we precisely trace when it was that America gave up its right to bear arms? When it became a licensed luxury, something to beg and plead for?

Sure we can. Start with the 19th Amendment and work forward from there.
