Petraeus Condemns U.S. Church's Plan to Burn Korans

KABUL—The top U.S. commander in Afghanistan said the planned burning of Qurans on Sept. 11 by a small Florida church could put the lives of American troops in danger and damage the war effort.
Gen. David Petraeus said the Taliban would exploit the demonstration for propaganda purposes, drumming up anger toward the U.S. and making it harder for allied troops to carry out their mission of protecting Afghan civilians.

"It could endanger troops and it could endanger the overall effort," Gen. Petraeus said in an interview. "It is precisely the kind of action the Taliban uses and could cause significant problems. Not just here, but everywhere in the world we are engaged with the Islamic community."

So hold on a second now...

During WWII there were NUMEROUS protestations against Japanese atrocities in particular, and try as I may, ask around as I have, I could find not ONE FUCKING INSTANCE of American servicemen asking AMERICAN CITIZENS to speak nice about the enemy...

Because they were afwaid..sniff...that speaking the damned truth might be icky for the guys on the front line. What in the name of all hell have we become?

David? May I call you David? Do your damned job and kill our enemies. And don't, not for a frickin nanosecond, ever DARE to tell American citizens what they can and cannot do. If the job is too tough, bucko, if the thought of engaging the men who would destroy America and its Constitution is too much for you to accomplish, if PROTECTING the FIRST AMENDMENT is way out of your pay grade, then surrender. Easiest way to placate an enemy, isn't it?

You sir, are a yellowbellied insult to your uniform. Oh and yeah, I'll BE THERE Davy. Promised to be nice and stay out of trouble, yes I did. But you may want to watch the tube because you just might catch this bigass inactive jarhead flipping the bird, to YOU,  and all the OTHER cowards who these days can't seem to do a simple job.

And thanks for giving the elitist liberal media fodder from which to attack American citizens, you idiot. Already there are " Petraeus Issues Warning" headlines cropping up everywhere one chooses to look. Guess that settles which side you're on, Davy. No "Oath Taker", eh? Why DID I expect more from the Army?
