LAPD Arrests Student for Posting Shooting Threat

LOS ANGELES — "Los Angeles police arrested a 21-year-old Loyola Marymount University student in connection with an online threat to shoot people on campus, officials said Saturday.

Police arrested Carlos Huerta, a senior at Loyola, for investigation of making criminal threats. Huerta was taken into custody on Saturday night near his apartment on campus.

Huerta is suspected of posting a message that he would shoot and kill as many people as possible on campus before being killed himself by police, authorities said. The anonymous threat appeared on a blog called Juicycampus.com, used primarily by college students.

University officials reported the threat to police around 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, said Los Angeles Police Department spokesman Officer Mike Lopez. Calls made to Loyola were not immediately returned.

Some officers were dispatched to patrol the campus as a precaution and campus entrances were restricted.

Investigators working with campus officials were eventually able to determine that the threat had come from the computer registered to Huerta, police said."

Good example for those having a hard time understanding what this freedom thang is all about.

Mr. Huerta chose to exercise his right to free speech. There were no prior restraints placed upon him. But, in committing a criminal act, said speech has deprived him of his liberty. Now, even a cursory glance at liberal blogs will show that there are boatloads of people calling for the death of George Bush and other Republican leaders each and every day, and nothing is ever done to punish those folks for "making criminal threats" because there's a world of difference when one is threatening a Conservative. The ACLU would pitch a hissy fit of biblical proportions should anyone receive punishment for exercising their right to free speech for openly venting on a BushChimpHitler type, while shouting down the rafters in calling for swift and severe reproof should someone dare do the same to President Hillary Clinton.

Only CERTAIN rights, you see, are inalienable. Prior restraint is permitted when a certain "right" is one agreeable to the liberal thought process, so be careful out there
