Catching Up...

...On mail, so it might be a slow weekend here. Blogger sucks and AOL sucks and none of this is new but we're looking for another ISP but will probably keep the AOL email addresses just to save time. I had over 800 ones to read at the addy I use for military chums, etc, and the info is hot and heavy regarding ordnance. Seems more than a few want to chime in on the decades-old 9 mm versus .45 embroglio, and that's cool. What I do not need is to hear from folks who've done nothing more than make holes in paper. Not that there's anything wrong with that. But it doesn't begin to address the problem of which sidearm is best for killing a man you've a duty to kill. I'm not FORG from Box O' Truth, so no stone is unturned in accumulating real-world information. And it isn't just the platform or caliber, but the bullet. As many idjits have discovered, the wrong ammunition can be even worse than the wrong amount of gun.

To everyone asking, try to keep it simple. The biggest caliber you can hit something with, fed with the best modern ammunition you can afford. Practice when you can. Overdoing it makes you as stale as not doing it at all, so dismiss advice from the out of work used car dealers posing as weapons experts. Guns should be a fun hobby. It IS life and death should they be used to defend a life but dragging yourself to the range means you need some time off.

And a public apology to Badanov for taking so bloody long to answer his email.
