I've stayed away from the Pluto fiasco. Things ARE what we like to call them, but science likes it's things neatly bundled and I can dig that.
But the biggest difference between all of the planets is the fact that only one has life. Only one has water. Only one has a moon large enough to maintain an ever so stable orbit. Only one has the perfect distance ftom it's star to sustain a benign atmosphere and temperature.
The list goes on, but poor Pluto is different in only ONE way and it gets the heave-ho?
Being so picky means that eventually they'll be Earth-Like, Non-Earth-Like, Possible-Earth-Like, Gas-Giant, Gas-Giant-Like, etc. nomenclatures that mean nothing in the grand scheme of things.
Dwarf this.
