Madison County Florida Switches From Hydra-Shok To HST

Happened a while back, actually, and the force isn't much larger than 300 officers strong. A shooting last year prompted the switch when a sheriff's deputy fired 6 rounds from his Glock 22 into an armed felon, and it wasn't until the last bullet connected that the 220 lb. man finally succumbed.

The 180 grain ancient-history hydra's where replaced with Federal HST's of the same weight, and several weeks later another deputy had cause to use the new rounds and didn't get a chance to raise his COM double-tap any higher because the felon fell dead on the spot.

One or two incidents does not a consensus make, but all of the incoming information is doing the relatively new bullet proud.

CORRECTION: The weapon in question was a Beretta 96F, and not a G-22. My apologies as I confused Madison County with the town of Madison.
