Brooklyn shop owner beats robber

"A Brooklyn bodega owner turned the tables on an armed robber Saturday, pounding him with a wooden stick until the crook dropped his gun, cops said.

The incident unfolded at the Sutter Grocery on Sutter Ave. in East New York when the bandit burst in, brandishing a firearm, and announced a holdup about 2:40 p.m., cops said.

Police said an employee or shopper then rolled down the store's security gate, trapping the armed man and the brave owner inside.

That's when the owner smacked the robber with the stick, according to cops."

In a more civilized venue, Mr. Bodega Owner would have been allowed to draw a firearm and shoot the sumbitch between the eyes, but instead was left to fend for himself with nothing more deadly than a processed tree branch.

Because, you see, in NYC only cops and robbers go about their business armed with modern weapons. Mr. Bodega just isn't special enough to carry a firearm, knows it, and curses the liberals who believe his life to be insignificant compared to theirs but is a good citizen and puts his life on the line every day to support his family. Unlike the cop, who constantly expresses to us how deadly HIS job is while walking around armed and with thousands of other armed men ready and able to come to his assistance on a moments notice...and is branded a hero if he shoots Mr. Bad Guy between the eyes.

The real hero is of course the Bodega owner, who probably won't need counsellings and time off to recuperate from so scary an event because that's what men with backbone do. Hitch it up, go back to work, and feed the family
