1. Memphis, Tenn.: 34%
"Researchers have found that residents are aware of the area's obesity problem, currently affecting 34% of its population. Among the causes they blame: high rates of poverty and a culture of Southern hospitality and food that values certain types of dishes--many of them fried--over healthier choices. Memphis actually sits on the western edge of a web of Southern cities along with Birmingham, Ala., and Atlanta, that also landed on our list."
Okay all of you liberal idiots, listen up and listen good because I'm not saying this again. POOR PEOPLE are thin. Check out them pics from the Great Depression, or some nice starving Africa shots might do the trick.
Fast Food costs MORE than cooking at home, so don't go blaming McDonald's catering to those starving poor folks. Costs the same to cook a healthy meal as it does a fattening one in ones house, but its the PORTION size that is making these minorities fat...and lets be truthful in calling a spade a spade, the majority are minority. Hard to lose weight sitting at home all day watching Oprah while chowing down on KFC at the same time.
There are over 70,000 college students and faculty in Gainesville, Florida and I pass joggers seemingly at every street corner. "So where do YOU run?" is the next question asked after ones name. In the 27 months of living here I have yet to see blacks or hispanics availing themselves of the bike lanes or walking/hiking paths that are bloody EVERYWHERE. Not once. What I CAN see is that 99% of the young people in town who are grossly overweight happen to be minority members.Absolutely NO exercise and tub after tub of greasy chicken WILL make one obese. Case, as they say, Closed.
Thanks to Call me Ahab
I was taken aback when Mr. Fancy Schmancy shouted "A pox on both your houses!" as I was unaware that he knew of my summer home.
