It appears that the person who ended the bloodshed at the New Life Church in Colorado was in fact a private citizen licensed to carry a handgun.
Regardless of her status, there was someone ready, willing, and able to end the hostilities and thats all anyone can ask. To be allowed to defend oneself against society's scum.
