"A former city cop, who tried to help her ex-con husband hide his bullet-riddled car after he shot a plainclothes officer, was sentenced to five years' probation Friday.
Jacqueline Melendez-Rivera, 38, had faced four years behind bars but cut a no-jail deal with Brooklyn Supreme Court Judge Joseph McKay in exchange for her guilty plea for evidence tampering in the Feb. 10 incident.
Her husband, Jose Rivera, 32, was sentenced to up to 16 years in prison for wounding Officer Andrew Suarez after a staredown while driving in Park Slope, Brooklyn."
