Concealed Cup Holder Has Law Enforcement Aflutter

January 21, 2008 -- "It looks like a Coke with ice - but it could be stashing a Colt with bullets.

An Internet firm peddling a cup carrier designed to hide a loaded pistol underneath a drink abruptly yanked its product off the market amid flak from law-enforcement authorities.

Firearm Access System Technologies recently began advertising its "FAST cup holster" for $29.95, saying it would let a driver to conceal a handgun beneath a 44-ounce plastic beverage cup.

The device has a place for the weapon at the bottom of the cup carrier and holds it in place with "two rare earth magnets" coated in polyurethane, so as not to "scratch or mar your gun's finish," according to the online ad posted by the Web-based firm.

A drink cup is then placed into the cup holder and can be topped off with an ordinary plastic lid and straw, so that no one knows what is inside.

But the device would threaten the safety of law-enforcement officers, including those making routine car stops, authorities told The Post."

Oh sweet Moses on a pogo here they go again. Feeling threatened. Every last state that allows car carry...except for those that permit open-carry... SPECIFICALLY STIPULATES that the weapon MUST be CONCEALED. So what are they really saying then? These weepy, nervous, frightened folks who should seriously be looking for other lines of work?

That we should break the law and NOT conceal our guns?

Oh and gee whiz but look who else is shitting down both legs...

"The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms plans to distribute its own advisory to more than 2,000 agents nationwide, said Joe Greene, an ATF spokesman in New York."

An advisory for what? To notify their agents that folks are obeying the LAW? And while we're at it, here's yet another brain surgeon at work...

"Joe Occhipinti, director of the National Police Defense Foundation, a non-profit group that advocates for law enforcement, said he also was planning to add the cup holster to his group's "disguised weapon" list on the organization's Web site."

Simply cannot make this shit up. They beg and cry and do everything humanly possible to deprive us of our rights, and when we agree to do as the law says they bitch about that as well.

I usually don't say word one about my own personal defense systems but dammit, I've been disguising firearms for years. It conceals them to stay within the law, and camouflages them so as to foil would-be thieves.

Win-win, correct?

WRONG. Obey the law and deter crooks is now a bad thing to do.
