13-year-old arrested in carjacking

"Richmond police are searching for two suspects in an armed robbery and carjacking earlier today in North Richmond that led to the arrest of a 13-year-old.

The teen and the two others, also believed to be juveniles, bailed out of the car just before 9 a.m. on the 3300 block of Meadowbridge Road after a three-minute chase that started at the intersection of East Ladies Mile Road and Jeter Avenue, said Richmond police Capt. David Martin.

The car in which the teens were riding had been stolen at 2 a.m. on the 3100 block on Napoleon Street in North Richmond. Its occupants were robbed at gunpoint, Martin said.

The teen was charged with robbery, abduction, use of a firearm, hit-and-run and a felony for attempting to elude police."

Thirteen. Out at 2 AM with a handgun. Years ago if you'd have told me it was going to get this bad I'd have laughed in your face. We're past the point of no return, my friends. Keep 'em locked and loaded.
