Ralph Peters Says: Kill-Em-All

"Violent Islamist extremists must be killed on the battlefield. Only in the rarest cases should they be taken prisoner. Few have serious intelligence value. And, once captured, there's no way to dispose of them.

Killing terrorists during a conflict isn't barbaric or immoral - or even illegal. We've imposed rules upon ourselves that have no historical or judicial precedent. We haven't been stymied by others, but by ourselves.

Consider today's norm: A terrorist in civilian clothes can explode an IED, killing and maiming American troops or innocent civilians, then demand humane treatment if captured - and the media will step in as his champion. A disguised insurgent can shoot his rockets, throw his grenades, empty his magazines, kill and wound our troops, then, out of ammo, raise his hands and demand three hots and a cot while he invents tales of abuse."

Well, you see, Ralph, it's like this. Some folks surrender. I do agree that the ones who do not surrender should be off'd like the offal they are, but when an enemy lays down his arms and asks for mercy it is what seperates us from them by giving such mercy. Congress needs to clarify precisely where and when a military tribunal is necessary, but you must also blame the Pentagon and the White House for dragging this out to the point whereby the Little-Sister's-Temperance-League'rs cannot stand the thought of those poor moslems wallowing away in relative luxury like that. Guantanamo was set up to handle prisoners with "valuable" information, and while we both know this is horsehockey because perhaps 1 in 100 has anything of value to offer, the intelligence boys love getting their hands on prisoners and instead of providing a hard solution at the moment of their capture, in some cases great pains were taken to bring em back alive. ALL parties concerned goofed in believing that the Loons...who stage protest marches for rapist and murderers on a regular basis...would simply sit back and be fine with this.

They OWN the media. They control what the general public gets to see and hear. Of course this was a calamity waiting to happen, and a lot of people said so way back when. We weren't listened to, and let me tell you, Ralph, a lot of good men died playing Frank Buck but the White House goofed and goofs are bound to happen in wartime. The thing that has always bothered me is that there never seems to be a Plan-B. We're fighting on 2 fronts; at home and abroad, and for the love of all that's holy there MUST be a backup when all else is failing.

We DO need to stop this Snare-Em-At-All-Cost fiasco but the problem isn't going away anytime soon because there's a prison-load of terrorists in Cuba and we can't count on ALL of them comitting suicide.
