Slavery Reparations Gaining Momentum

"Advocates who say black Americans should be compensated for slavery and its Jim Crow aftermath are quietly chalking up victories and gaining momentum."

I truly wanted to post a serious essay on this, but it's simply too, too ludicrous. Repaying people for a system that ended nearly a century and a half ago...paid in full by the deaths of tens of thousands of white Americans who died for black freedom...is abject nonsense. Are blacks willing to pay back the descendants of those tens of thousands? How much is their freedom worth? Instead of moving on to assume their rightful place in civilization, this is what they want? Money? Where's the thank-you to those who fought so that they might be free?

Such people are beyond redemption, their actions reprehensible, and they just don't get it, do they.

The story does have representation from the other side who profess that money is not the cure-all for blacks, never was, never will be. "Reparations" is just another in a long line of Loon fantasy's that doesn't want to go away, and to be honest, I would not expect them, all of "them" to stop bitching and dig in.

On the other hand, I'd gladly stand behind a nickle per gallon send-them-home tax on gasoline. One lump sum. Take it and move elsewhere. And renounce American citizenship because this by the people and for the people gig just doesn't make it for you. Be different, wallow in your differences if that's what floats the boat, but leave us the hell alone.
