We Get Letters...

"Is the Mosin-Nagant a great rifle like the Box of Truth guys say...?"

No. The Mosin M91/30 is a fair plinker, and only even fair because they can be found cheap by C&R types. 5 rounds of 7.62X55R in a good version, shot on a good day, with good ammo will return a benchrest inch at 50 yards, and maybe 2 and a half at 100. Hardly anything to write home about, but the old C&R fella's get 'em cheap as all hell, and the older one gets the more attractive cheap becomes. To someone who happens to like the rifle, then great remains eye-of-the-beholder'ish. To someone looking for a truly great rifle, the Nagant isn't in the running.

And how many times have I told you never to believe anything from the Box Bufoons. These are sick old men whiling away their golden years shooting crappy old military rejects and giggling to one another as they compare prices. Nothing "great" ever cost a hundred bucks. It's okay, though; at least you asked before trusting the moron.
