Lucky 7

Happy New Year

It is different here in Florida, as the ravages of winter do not daily remind one that nature is in respite and hint that you should be too. I've spent many winters in alike latitudes but never referred to one as home so this is a first for me and my lovely bride. In the dead-tree vistas that are the northeast and midwest, this time of year begs for a call to happiness, and the new year celebration is a most welcomed one. Yesterday saw the upper-70s, this day will most likely be quite similar and the palm trees atop the green grass evoke memories of spring rather than the beginnings of true winter. Still, the celebrations were hardy, as tropical folk need no license to become amused but it's an indescriminate sort of jubilation.

Whatever your clime and place here's hoping for nothing but the best. New Year's Day means we start off fresh and equal and well met. So don't fuck it up.
