TUCSON, AZ (KOLD)- One man is dead following a fight at a midtown convenience store Saturday night.
It happened just before 9 p.m. at Circle K, located in the 3100 block of East Speedway Boulevard, said Sgt. Diana Lopez, a Tucson Police Department spokeswoman.
Two men, identified as Cesar Rios Gonzalez, 19, and Jesus Preciado, 21, approached another man just north of the store and began to assault him, Lopez said. The 26-year-old victim was able to get away and went inside the Circle K.
Gonzalez and Preciado followed him inside and assaulted him again, Lopez said. The victim fought back and stabbed both suspects.
Gonzalez was taken to University Medical Center, where he died several hours later, Lopez said.
Preciado fled the scene, Lopez said. Police located him a short time later and he was taken to the hospital and treated for non life-threatening injuries.
Upon release from the hospital, Preciado was booked into the Pima County Jail and charged with one count of Aggravated Assault with serious injury, Lopez said.
The victim suffered serious injuries during the fight and was also taken to the hospital, Lopez said. He is expected to recover.
At this time it appears that the victim will not face any charges because he stabbed both of the suspects in self-defense, Lopez said."
Over 3500 people are killed by cutlery every year, and disregard those who, as most grifters are known to do, screech loudly and to all comers that YOU CAN'T DEFEND YOURSELF with a knife unless first spending 8 to 10 years studying under some Yoda-inspired blademaster, OR, you'll only hurt YOURSELF and what if the weapon is taken away from you?
Sound familiar?
It should. Most people espousing such abject nonsense are law enforcement connected, somehow, some way, and men of good will ALL know what law enforcement thinks about "civilians" and deadly weapons.
