"Two men walking down a street. One pushes a little old lady in front of a bus. The other man rushes to her side and pushes her away from the bus. The one thing you can say with absolute certainty is the fact that both men are guilty of pushing around little old lady's." Paraphrased from William F. Buckley.
We are all, each and every one of us, little old lady pushers. All any true Conservative can try to do is keep an eye out for those who tug in the wrong direction for all the wrong reasons, and be ready for when the NY Times or some other dirty rag uses its gravitas to intentionally misinterpret who is pushing whom and why.
