The Mouse Still Roars

July 4, 2006 -- SEOUL, South Korea - "North Korea vowed yesterday to respond with an "annihilating" nuclear strike if it is attacked pre-emptively by the United States.
The Bush administration responded sternly yesterday, saying while it had no intention of attacking, it was determined to protect the United States if North Korea launched a long-range missile.

"Should North Korea take the provocative action of launching a missile, the U.S. would respond appropriately, including by taking the necessary measures to protect ourselves," said Julie Reside, a State Department spokeswoman.

Still, Reside said, the United States and other countries that have negotiated with North Korea are seeking a fundamentally different relationship with the reclusive regime.

"We and our partners in the six-party process continue strongly to urge North Korea not to launch a long-range missile and, instead, to return to the six-party talks," she said.

Anyone who truly has power does not need to boast of it nor advertise, so this tells me beyond a reasonable doubt that N Korea has nothing close to a nuclear weapon. They know that we know, but are hopeful that our sheeple, or the EUrinals (but isn't that the same thing), will lose the nerve necessary to thwart Lil Kimmy and his maniacal designs.

Damn. But where IS Alec Baldwin when we need him.
