TIPTON, Iowa - — "Democratic presidential hopeful John Edwards said on Sunday that his universal health care proposal would require that Americans go to the doctor for preventive care.
"It requires that everybody be covered. It requires that everybody get preventive care," he told a crowd sitting in lawn chairs in front of the Cedar County Courthouse. "If you are going to be in the system, you can't choose not to go to the doctor for 20 years. You have to go in and be checked and make sure that you are OK."
This is what liberals love the most. The power, the laws, the MANDATORY this, that, and the other thing.
And now Johnny Brylcreem wants to establish the Health Care Cops. Now, I'm all for arming doctors and nurses because self-defense should be up to the individual and am tired of us spending all that money on law enforcement just because certain folks are too craven or too lazy to protect themselves, but they better be rather quick on the draw if they want to bully some us into those cramped and sterile waiting rooms, or even worse, the abattoirs they are calling hospitals nowadays.
Not that this certifiable Loon has a snowballs chance in hell, mind you, but we don't need him giving his commie pals any ideas. The very thought of all those cranky old Florida retirees being tasered into submission and tossed into paddywagons because they missed an ear-hair shaving appointment brings shivers to my spine.
