Yawn, John Roberts Criticized The, Yawn, Court

In 1980s, Roberts Criticized The Court He Hopes to Join

When John G. Roberts Jr. accepted President Bush's nomination to the Supreme Court last month, he spoke with awe about the high court. He had argued 39 cases before the justices, but he said he "always got a lump in my throat whenever I walked up those marble steps."

Pretty soon the hysterical media will be faxing around crayon drawings from Roberts' first day at kindergarten and pointing out how terrible he was at staying within the lines. Really, it's simply gotten that bad, and what was fun for a while is now turning to yeah, so what. You know when the media has beaten something to death, even when the something is interesting to begin with, but for chrissake when they're stretching and stretching to find something, anything bad about this guy it's passing the point of a yawn and soon to move into outright irritation.

And isn't it all pretty much a waste of time when you get right down to it? The lefties are going to hate the guy even if someone digs up an old story of him pulling Mother Theresa from under a deranged cow that expired upon her while he was sitting on a street corner feeding homeless Indians and finishing one of Beethoven's lost concerto's. Doesn't matter to them if the man was the original matrix for the first Batman movie, it's the ability to really really dig aborting babies that counts. Conversely, the right is going to continue to welcome him with open arms, Ann Coulter included, even if perhaps he DID say a naughty about the Supremes.

Bork likes the guy and that does it for me, but I'd still want him to be appointed because Kennedy, and Boxer, and Turbin, and Pelosi, and Schumer hate him for not understanding all these new "rights" the Supremes have been coming up with lately.

The enemy of my enemy and all that jazz.

So who's the Washington Post out to impress? Guess it's the same old story in more ways than one. Their "constituency", at least the way-out wack-job super-lefty section of the peanut gallery that will howl if somebody, ANYBODY doesn't at least put up a fight.

Liberals fighting. Boggles the mind.
