And the first murder victim of the new year was killed with...

New York Post Online Edition: news

January 2, 2006 -- "A beaming Carlos Cintron rang in the New Year with his family and then told his girlfriend how much he loved her.
Two hours later, the well-liked Queens teen was the first murder victim of 2006, viciously stabbed to death as he played Good Samaritan trying to bust up a booze-fueled fight between two friends."

So where are the Knife-Control freaks? And with all of this cry for more gun control, precisely how many people are killed by firearms as opposed to other methods of mayhem? Here's a clue; not a day goes by without someone in the Big Apple getting run over by a drunken driver or some nutcase looking for revenge. Not a day goes by without someone being stabbed, or bludgeoned, or strangled, or thrown from a rooftop. The SYSTEM sucks, people, not the inanimate objects that criminals use to hurt people.

Half the drivers in the city can't control their oversized pigmobiles; they know it, the powers that be know it, but que sera sera. Personal freedom don't'cha know. The best mass transit in the world and the freedom of owning something 3 times the size of what you need just as a status symbol is okay, but get a gun to protect yourself and it's whinging and whining time in the city that never sleeps.

And betcha the knife that was used to eviscerate Mr. Cintron was made in China, not Florida or Georgia.
