Modern Ammunition AKA Hollowpoints...

Versus full metal jacket bullets.

Modern hollowpoints do several things that full metal jacketed ammo does not. They of course expand, turning a .40 caliber bullet into an .80 caliber one. Because of the mushrooming effect that may be compared to a parachute slowing down a skydiver, hollowpoints decelerate upon entry, thus assuring less penetration, and less is good...to a point. You do not want a round flashing through the intended target to contact peoples places or things that might be in the way. But you have to have at least 10-12 inches of penetration because arms and hands and other objects can get in the way. The "normal" looking round is a .40 caliber FMJ, and the expanded one is a 9 mm Black Talon hollowpoint. Which would you want to use in a matter of life and death. And maybe even best of all...hollowpoints scare the shit out of liberals and that's always a good thing.

DISCLAIMERINGS: No liberals were harmed during the making of this post, as both rounds were fired through water jugs. Inanimate objects not nearly as dumb.
