Oh Please Now Part Dexuz*

Top Bush Adviser to Step Down

"Michael J. Gerson, one of President Bush's most trusted advisers and author of nearly all of his most famous public words during the past seven years, plans to step down in the next couple weeks in a decision that colleagues believe will leave a huge hole in the White House at a critical period."

There's the obligatory tomfoolery from past and present speech writer-types claiming that oh my heavens but he was so much MORE than just a writer...

Yes, he was also an impressive dolt. Hackneyed, stale, trite, let's see, what HAVEN'T the President's speeches been called? How very many times did one blog or another pre-empt a Bush speech with a funny mockery of what it was going to be?

Now they'd have us believe that this hack also helped in shaping policy?

Is that why things got so frigged?

*Dexuz: French for the number 2. The pronunciation is charming, and people the world over yearn to speak it as well as the linguists who call France home, but realize that such grace remains beyond their feeble attempts at appearing to possess a modicum of culture.
