CHARLESTON, S.C.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Garden & Gun magazine, a new lifestyle publication from Evening Post Publishing Company, hits newsstands today. The unique magazine will be available throughout the Southeast and in several metropolitan areas, including New York City, Dallas and Detroit. The magazine has an initial targeted distribution base of 150,000 people throughout the country.
Garden & Gun reflects the contemporary culture of the South with an elegant style and modern approach. The publication aims to redefine coverage of the Southern traditions, lifestyles, dreams and heritage.
“We’re more targeted and more niche than older Southern titles,” said Rebecca Darwin, publisher. “Within Garden & Gun, conservation and preservation of natural resources are as important as skeet-shooting and adventurous lifestyle.”
The premiere issue features among its stories a trout fishing expedition on the Soquee River with best-selling author George Black and bamboofly rod maker William Oyster, a look into Thomas Jefferson’s Garden at Monticello, a wild ride in a Cirrus SR-22 over Kitty Hawk with Southern novelist Clyde Edgerton, a sustainable house in Atlanta that is a logical approach to “green” design, a tour of Asheville, North Carolina shops and restaurants, and Pat Conroy’s Reflections of the South.
