D.C. Case Could Shape Gun Laws...

"The District asked the Supreme Court yesterday to save the city's ban on handgun ownership, saying an appeals court's decision overturning the prohibition "drastically departs from the mainstream of American jurisprudence."

If the court agrees to take the case, as most legal experts believe is likely, it could lead to a historic decision sometime next year on whether the Second Amendment to the Constitution protects an individual's right to own a gun or simply imparts a collective, civic right related to maintaining state militias."

Blah blah. Blah.

For a lay person to try and decipher such legalize is both fruitless and demeaning. But, the Supremes are in no way, shape, or form going to fling open Pandora's Box in one swell foop, just ain't gonna happen. For them to return a decision giving American citizens the definite RIGHT to keep and bear arms would send the country into a turmoil the likes of which has never been seen outside of wartime.

There is far too much water under the bridge to suddenly make ALL gun laws illegal, and the Supreme Court isn't going to rain chaos down upon us, not all at once.

So whats going to happen?

Thats easy. If the court is as wise and patriotic as I believe the majority of them to be, they'll find for Parker on a technicality, giving the states, along with of course the District of Columbia, time to sort through the existing gun laws and begin the process of establishing SOME licensing system that isn't anathema to a Constitutional RIGHT. This is of course impossible, but they'll affix the same...Can't Shout Fire In A Crowded Theater caveat that is attached to the Right to Free Speech. They'll be forced to admit that the times have changed so drastically as to warrant SOME permit procedure, but it will be a far less restrictive one than now exists, and will effectively do away with MAY-ISSUE, or NO-ISSUE states but they are in the minority anyway.

We are never going to awaken to a totally FREE America. Not with the viruses and cancers called liberals and communists and socialists masquerading as elected representatives still alive and eating away at everything we hold near and dear.

Eventually...UNLESS the court puts this on hold until RodHam is elected so that she may appoint socialist justices...we WILL see a far better interpretation of the 2nd Amendment than the one that eats away at us each and every day.

The cat is out of the bag and the loons are running scared, BUT we won't score a clear cut victory, not now, not so soon.
